Answer: 5th

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished with the second ranked overall defense. Unbelievably, the 2-14 Oakland Raiders finished with the 3rd ranked defense. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha had a huge impact on this, finishing with 8 interceptions. Fourth place belonged to the Miami Dolphins. Led by Jason Taylor, they managed to shutout the New England Patriots in Week 14, with a score of 21-0.
4. Peyton Manning led the league with 31 touchdowns, and a 101.0 passer rating in 2006. Which player followed behind him with a 98.0 passer rating?

Answer: Damon Huard

Damon Huard of the Kansas City Chiefs finished with a passer rating of 98.0. Although he only played 10 games due to an injured Trent Green, he finished with 244 attempts, 1878 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. Drew Brees had a 96.2 passer rating, Donovan McNabb had a 95.5 passer rating, and Tony Romo, who also didn't play the full season, had a 95.1 passer rating.

Answer: Rashean Mathis

Nnamdi Asomugha of the Oakland Raiders, Charles Woodson of the Green Bay Packers, Walt Harris of the San Francisco 49ers, and Rashean Mathis of the Jacksonville Jaguars all had 8 interceptions in 2006. Every other player finished with 6 interceptions.
6. The NFL was filled with many talented tight ends. These four tight ends finished with the top receiving yards, however, one of them didn't do too well in the touchdown department. Which of these four tight ends finished with only 3 touchdowns?

Answer: Kellen Winslow

Antonio Gates finished with the most yards and 9 touchdowns. Alge Crumpler had the fourth overall yards and 8 touchdowns. Tony Gonzalez had the second most yards and 5 touchdowns. Kelly Winslow of the Cleveland Browns finished in third place with 875 yards unfortunately he had only 3 touchdowns.
7. Running backs that can play the slot are a great addition to any offense. Steven Jackson led all backs in the league with all purpose yards and receiving yards. Which back led the league in receiving touchdowns?

Answer: Brian Westbrook

With Donovan McNabb out for the season, Brian Westbrook had a chance to prove himself. He had his first 1000-yard rushing season with 1217 yards. He also had 699 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. LaDainian Tomlinson and Steven Jackson had 3 touchdowns, and Reggie Bush had 2, although he was second in receiving yards.
8. Accurate place kickers are essential to a successful NFL season. Matt Stover was the most accurate kicker with a 93.3 percent accuracy rating. Which kicker followed him with 93.1 percent?

Answer: Jason Elam

Jason Elam attempted 29 field goals and made 27 of them. Adam Vinatieri had an 89.3% accuracy rating, Robbie Guild had an 88.9% accuracy rating, and Nate Kaeding had an 89.7% accuracy rating.
9. If a team can master fourth down completions, it will diversify their offense intensely. Bill Belichick, the coach of the Patriots, loves to go on 4th downs with his short passing offense. Which one of these teams did not make any of their fourth down attempts in 2006?

Answer: Indianapolis Colts

Believe it or not, the Indianapolis Colts went for four fourth down attempts, and were not successful on any of them, which is surprising considering the Indianapolis Colts have a great short yardage offense.
10. Which player was drafted fourth to last in 2006, and finished with 1038 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2006?

Answer: Marques Colston of the New Orleans Saints

Greg Jennings was drafted #52 and played in in 14 games. He had 632 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chad Jackson was drafted #36, and played in 12 games. He had 13 receptions for 152 yards and had 3 touchdowns. Santonio Holmes was drafted #25 and played in all 16 games.

He had 49 receptions for 824 yards and 2 touchdowns. I find it ironic that Marques Colston was picked fourth to last by the New Orleans Saints, and clearly should have been drafted much higher. He ended up helping Drew Brees achieve the most passing yards, and giving his team the number one ranked offense.
