Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Los Angeles Lakers

Answer: Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant went straight from high school into the 1996 NBA Draft, being selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the 13th overall pick and traded to the Lakers before the season began. He then went on to play his entire 20-year career at the Lakers, and was chosen as an NBA All-Star no less than 18 times.

When he retired in 2016, he was the third highest scorer in NBA history, behind only Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
2. Lotus

Answer: Jim Clark

Jim Clark was a Formula 1 racing driver who competed for Lotus every year of his 9-year career, winning two Drivers' Championships in the process. Unfortunately, Jim Clark died aged just 32 while competing in a Formula 2 race at the Hockenheimring in Germany. Of the 72 Formula 1 races in which he was on the start line, Jim Clark won 25, which gave him the third highest percentage win rate in the sport's history when he retired in 1968. Only Alberto Ascari (13/33 from 1950 to 1955) and Juan Manuel Fangio (24/52 from 1950 to 1958) won more frequently.
3. Miami Dolphins

Answer: Dan Marino

Dan Marino played quarterback for the Miami Dolphins for the entirety of his 16-year career. He was selected 27th in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft, sometimes known as the 'quarterback class of 1983' due to the fact that six quarterbacks were selected in the first round.

Other quarterbacks selected in the first round include John Elway (1st pick, Baltimore Colts), Jim Kelly (14th pick, Buffalo Bills) and Ken O'Brien (24th pick, New York Jets).
4. Manchester United

Answer: Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs played on the wing for the football (soccer) club Manchester United from 1990 until 2014. Not only is he one of the longest serving players for a single club, he is also one of the most prolific players in the history of the Premier League, and was the most capped player of all time at the point of his retirement.

He has set many other records, such as being the only player to have scored in every one of the first 22 seasons of the Premier League (which began in 1992).
5. Sale Sharks

Answer: Mark Cueto

Sale Sharks are an English rugby union club from the town of Sale, near Manchester. Mark Cueto played on the wing for Sale from 2001 to 2015, securing over 300 caps and scoring more than 100 tries. He is one of the most prolific try scorers in the English Premier League, with 90 career tries. Cueto also played regularly for England in international rugby, gaining 55 caps over an eight year period.
6. Pittsburgh Penguins

Answer: Mario Lemieux

Canadian ice hockey player Mario Lemieux played his entire NHL career at the Pittsburgh Penguins - 12 seasons from 1984-1997, followed by a further five from 2000-2006. Lemieux played in ten All-Star games in his career, won two Stanley Cups and an Olympic gold medal, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997.
7. Indiana Fever

Answer: Tamika Catchings

The aptly named Tamika Catchings spent her entire 14-year career at the WNBA team Indiana Fever after having been picked 3rd in the 2001 draft. Despite having to sit out the entirety of her first year due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, she went on to be named Rookie of the Year the following season.

She was chosen for the All-Star team no less than ten times during her career, and also won four gold medals at four consecutive Olympic Games, from Athens 2004 to Rio de Janeiro 2016.
8. A.S. Roma

Answer: Francesco Totti

Francesco Totti spent 25 years at the football (soccer) club A.S. Roma in his home town of Rome, Italy. He represented the club over 600 times, scoring 250 goals in the process. Totti is known for his enthusiastic goal celebrations - including the display of t-shirts with both political and personal slogans, the imitation of birth with the match ball stuffed up his shirt in the run up to the arrival of one of his children, and the takeover of a pitch-side camera.
9. Brisbane Broncos

Answer: Corey Parker

Corey Parker played rugby league for the Australian team Brisbane Broncos for 15 years between 2001 and 2016. In addition to his 347 caps for the Broncos, Parker also represented Australia internationally, playing 19 caps between 2011 and 2016. In 2017, Parker became a TV commentator.
10. St. Louis Cardinals

Answer: Stan Musial

Stan Musial played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941 until his retirement in 1963, breaking only to join the US Navy in 1945-46. He won three World Series in his career, and was an All Star in all but one year that he was playing. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.

In 2014, he was commemorated by the opening of the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge between St. Clair County, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri. The bridge is unofficially known as the 'Stan Span'.
