Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the beginning of the day, where was Jack Bauer?

Answer: At a Senate hearing on CTU human rights abuses

Jack Bauer had been subpoenaed to testify on his actions while he had worked at the now-deactivated CTU. Senator Mayer was heading the committee and was pushing for prison time for Bauer. Bauer's appearance in front of the Senate was cut short when his assistance was needed with a national security issue.
2. Which former CTU agent, thought to be dead, had turned up alive?

Answer: Tony Almeida

Tony Almeida had allegedly died several years earlier at CTU, but it turned out that he was revived after being smuggled out of the building. He had been working with a crew doing a number of "bad things", as he put it. He appeared to be working with the terrorists at the beginning of Day 7, and Jack Bauer was asked to help find him.
3. What was the goal of terrorists Colonel Dubaku and General Juma?

Answer: Removal of U.S. troops from Sangala

General Juma had led a coup in Sangala, driving out the elected Prime Minister Matobo and committing atrocities in the country. President Taylor was launching a humanitarian invasion to drive out Juma's troops at Prime Minister Matobo's request. General Juma and his right hand man, Colonel Dubaku, were using terrorist tactics within the U.S. to force President Taylor to withdraw from Sangala.
4. With which government agency was Jack Bauer working?

Answer: Federal Bureau of Investigation

Jack Bauer had been pulled from the Senate hearing by FBI Agent Renee Walker; he would work with her throughout Day 7. Although initially being "by the book", Walker became more willing to support Bauer's tactics as she recognized his ability to get results.
5. What target did General Juma attack?

Answer: The White House

General Juma decided to attack the White House and take President Taylor hostage. After threatening to torture and kill her daughter, Olivia, Juma was able to get President Taylor to read a televised statement condemning the U.S. for its involvement in Sangala. The siege ended when Bill Buchanan sacrificed his life to take out Juma's men and save the president.
6. What was in the shipment that Jonas Hodges received for helping General Juma?

Answer: A biological agent

Jonas Hodges ran Starkwood, a private military contractor. The biological agent had been developed by General Juma's organization and then tested on citizens of Sangala. Juma had agreed to supply Hodges with the bioagent in exchange for Hodges' help with his White House assault.
7. What was the goal of Jonas Hodges and the consortium of conspirators?

Answer: To force the U.S. government to use their military contractor companies

Jonas Hodges and the other conspirators planned to use the biological agent to launch attacks in the United States, which they planned to blame on sleeper cells. These attacks were intended to convince the U.S. government that the private military contractors were needed to supply security to the U.S. and to augment the regular military services.
8. Why was Tony Almeida helping the conspirators?

Answer: To get access to Alan Wilson

Tony Almeida had never gotten over the death of his wife several years earlier, and he had discovered that Alan Wilson, the head of the consortium of conspirators, was to blame for her death. Wilson was a well- protected man, however, so Almeida had come up with a plan to get access to him. It required him to work with the terrorists, while he also worked undercover with Bill Buchanan and Chloe O'Brian, while he also worked for the consortium of conspirators.
9. At the end of the day, whom did President Taylor have arrested?

Answer: Olivia Taylor

In order to get information from Jonas Hodges, President Taylor was forced to make an agreement with Hodges to put him in the witness protection program. Olivia Taylor was furious about this; Hodges had been responsible for her brother's death as well as the deaths of many other people that day.

She hired a man to kill Hodges but changed her mind and tried to back out of the deal. But it was too late; Hodges died from a car bomb. After Aaron Pierce and Ethan Kanin uncovered her involvement, she confessed to her mother, who had Olivia arrested, despite the pleas from Olivia's father.
10. At the end of the day, where was Jack Bauer?

Answer: In a hospital in a coma

Jack Bauer had been infected by a biological agent for which there was no antidote. A doctor from the Center for Disease Control had told him that there was an experimental procedure involving a stem cell treatment from a compatible donor, Bauer didn't want to put his daughter, Kim, through it, since there was a slight risk to her. Bauer's symptoms worsened throughout the day, and by the end of the day, he was in an induced coma.
