The episode began with the Oceanic Six boarding a flight and it was in the cockpit that a co pilot spoke to the other co pilot about "The guy with the guitar", referencing Hurley since he had a guitar with him. He mentioned how Hurley was brave in surviving a plane crash and is now flying the same route on yet another aircraft carrier.

The other co pilot suggested that perhaps Hurley never believed of lightning striking twice in the same place.

As both copilots spoke, the plane had some mechanical problems and was descending. One of them tried hard to get the plane back up into the air but it was too late and the plane crashed on the island. After it crashed, it was revealed that one of the two copilots survived whereas the other one died.

As there was still time traveling going on in this episode, part of it took place thirty years prior to the plane crash. It was in the first scene from thirty years ago in which Hurley, Kate, Jin and Jack saw Sawyer on the island. Hurley went up to Sawyer and hugged him since he was glad to see Sawyer still alive.

Miles was first seen talking to Juliet since she had asked him if he had seen Sawyer, to which Miles told her he had not and Sawyer had not answered his walkie talkie either. Juliet mentioned to Miles how Jin called Sawyer that morning and then Jin ran off without informing her where he was going. Miles then checked a security camera and saw Sawyer on it.

Jin demanded Stuart to check the other stations to find out if a plane landed.
