Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sometimes Daphne has to bribe Scooby into going to a spooky place. What food does she offer him to help him get over his fear?

Answer: Scooby Snacks

Scooby loves his Scooby Snacks. They come in many flavors, including marshmallow, pizza, tomato, peanut butter, bubble gum, Cajun, and creamy garlic. One of the employees at the Scooby Snack factory says that he was fired for inventing the only bad flavor--zucchini squid.
2. What is the name of the newspaper that Freddie loves to read?

Answer: National Exaggerator

Freddie treats this newspaper as if it were gospel. The paper prints stories about the Metal Men from Mercury, the Mustard Men, and the Cotton Candy Creatures. In one episode, his uncle buys the paper.
3. Who is the butler who is on the scene immediately whenever Daphne calls for him?

Answer: Jenkins

All Daphne has to do is shout "Jenkins!" and the butler comes zooming in. His tasks include dusting a dirty house, donning a pink dress to imitate a wrestling fan, removing Red Herring from the school, being scared for Daphne, bringing a chair for Daphne, and rescuing Daphne from falling to her death. One time he comes when Velma says, "Jinkies" and another time a butler named Dawson appears instead, as Jenkins is doing Daphne's shopping.
4. Shaggy loves comic books and superheroes. Who is his favorite superhero?

Answer: Commander Cool

Commander Cool's canine companion is Mellow Mutt. Shaggy and Scooby dress as these characters in a few episodes.
5. In which episode is Velma accused of cheating, causing the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency to come to her aid? (This episode also features a science fair project gone wrong.)

Answer: The Computer Walks Among Us

Someone plants answers to a math test in her locker, resulting in her suspension from school. The gang eventually clears her name--the real culprit is a fellow student who disguises himself as Velma's robot.
6. Freddie accuses school bully Red Herring of committing the crime in almost every episode. Does Red ever actually do it?

Answer: Yes

In "Night of the Boogie Biker," Red steals his aunt's motorcycle (but only to fix it up). This is the one episode where Daphne does not allow Freddie to accuse Red, so we do not even get to see Freddie be right for a change. In philosophy, a red herring is a logical fallacy in which the arguer subtly changes the topic to something not related to the original argument in order to guide listeners off track.
7. Scooby has a large, luxurious doghouse. In one episode, a monster that looks like a purple blob hides the money that he steals from the bank in the doghouse, leading Scooby to believe that his doghouse is haunted. Which episode is it?

Answer: The Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core

As it is nighttime, the gang all show up in their pajamas and bathrobes to solve the mystery. The villain turns out to be the bank manager.
8. In "Terror, Thy Name is Zombo," Shaggy and Scooby show up at an amusement park with hundreds of box tops so that they can be the first ones to ride the new roller coaster. When Daphne expresses her incredulity that the two ate over four hundred boxes of cereal just to ride first, Shaggy gives her a typical Shaggy response. What does he say?

Answer: "It sure was a busy afternoon!"

Shaggy and Scooby must have bottomless pits for stomachs. They can eat hundreds of boxes of pizza, tubs of popcorn that are bigger than they are, and dozens of hot dogs, yet still be hungry.
9. The monsters in this show sure have some strange names. Which of the following is not the name of a monster that Scooby and the gang encounter?

Answer: Clicky Shoes McGee

Al Cabone appears in "For Letter or Worse," Boogedy Bones scares the gang in "The Babysitter from Beyond," and Stinkweed is the monster in "Lights...Camera...Monster." I made up the name Clicky Shoes McGee.
10. Who nearly always solves the crime?

Answer: Velma

Velma, with her trusty computer and magnifying glass, almost always figures out who the monster is. The only time that she doesn't is in "The Ghost of Mrs. Shushman," in which Shaggy and Scooby figure out who the ghost is. Velma even remarks that she doesn't know who it is this time.
