Answer: A marshmallow

Veronica spent some time creating a hard exterior for the outside world to see, but when she befriended Wallace, he saw right through her. He called her a marshmallow, because she was actually soft inside. In the pilot episode, viewers saw what had happened to Veronica to make her tough.

She stayed tough throughout the series, but her marshmallow inside made her a character one to root for. Logan later described her as smelling like marshmallows and promises. Promises was the name of Veronica's perfume.

Answer: Her house burned down.

The pilot episode of "Veronica Mars" was very exposition heavy. We learned that her best friend Lilly Kane had been murdered, and Lilly's brother, Duncan, had dumped Veronica out of the blue. The aftermath of the murder led to Veronica becoming a social pariah and her mother leaving town. Her father also lost his job. She also got raped at a party.

Answer: Sheriff

When Keith suspected the much beloved Jake Kane of his daughter's murder, Keith suddenly found himself out of a job by special election. When Veronica sided with her father, many of the rich kids, called 09ers, sided against Veronica. In his position as a PI, Keith continued to investigate Lilly Kane's death despite the fact that Abel Koontz had been convicted of the crime. Veronica helped Keith at the office and became an amateur sleuth.

She did some investigating of her own into Lilly's murder.

Answer: Back-up

In the pilot episode, Veronica went on a stake out at the Camelot Motel. "Don't forget to take Back-up," was Keith's words of advice. It was not until Veronica was surrounded by Weevil's gang that the audience learned that Back-up was a pit bull. Friends of Veronica were not so intimidated by Back-up. Once Weevil stated when angry at Veronica that she had to go but Back-up could stay.

Her love for Back-up was very apparent in a crime involving stolen dogs.

Answer: Lianne

Lianne Reynolds was a popular girl at Neptune High who dated Jake Kane. After Celeste told Jake she was pregnant, Jake dated and later married Celeste. Celeste did not give birth at that time but later had Lilly and Duncan. Lianne married Keith Mars but had an affair with Jake Kane. Throughout season one, Veronica did not know who her father was until a test confirmed she was Keith Mars' daughter. Lianne continued a losing battle with alcohol and stole 50,000 dollars from Keith in the final episode of the first season.

Answer: Taser

Despite her diminutive size, Veronica could defend herself pretty well with her taser. Usually she only had to fire it up to get the space she needed. She had no qualms on using it against those that deserved it. In the second season finale, the tables did turn and the taser was used against her by the villain.

In the third season debut, Logan borrowed it to subdue Dick's large attacker.

Answer: A pony

This was more of a running gag than an actual expectation. This seemed to poke fun at their not so normal father-daughter relationship, where Veronica had to grow up quicker than the average teenager. Keith would sometimes wonder why she wasn't more like other teenage girls, although she claimed to be obsessed with unicorns.

When she was arrested, she penned a fake tattoo of a pony on her arm.

Answer: Van Clemmons

As Veronica graduated, Van Clemmons, the principal, offered this farewell. Veronica's advice was, "Don't keep all your passwords taped on the bottom of your stapler. And stay cool Mr. C." While Veronica got away with quite a bit at Neptune High, Clemmons did catch her at least once with keys to his filing cabinet.

However, he found that she was a good asset to have around for small school issues.

Answer: The FBI

Veronica's criminology professor, Hank Landry, suggested that Veronica apply. He considered her one of the most gifted students he had encountered. Dean Cyrus O'Dell gave Veronica a strong letter of recommendation. When the internship came through, Piz, her current boyfriend, was less than thrilled as the internship would be in Virginia. Creators of "Veronica Mars" pitched a fourth season of fast forwarding through time after Veronica's graduation, and she had begun work as an FBI agent.

The series was not picked up for a fourth season.

Answer: Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell is actually seven years older than Veronica. It was her first major character. Following "Veronica Mars", Bell was cast as Elle Bishop on the hit show, "Heroes", an electric character and possible villain. Francis Capra, who played Weevil, was also on "Heroes" for a few episodes, but the characters did not interact. Bell was never a regular and has since left the show.
