Tom Reilly played Bobby "Hot Dog" Nelson during the final season of the show. Bruce Nelson, portrayed by Bruce Penhall, became Ponch's partner later in the season. Erik Estrada reportedly did not get along well with Reilly, leading to his diminished role on the show during the second half of the season. Brodie Greer played Barry Baricza and Michael Dorn of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" played Jedediah Turner on "CHiPs."
