Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these teachers is NOT shown complaining about Lawndale High's lack of money at the beginnning of the episode?

Answer: Ms. Morris

Mr. DiMartino's maps are out of date, Mr. O'Neill cannot give his class copies of the play they are supposed to be reading, and Ms. Defoe has run out of red paint and cannot afford to get any more. Ms. Morris, the Physical Education teacher, is not shown complaining. Jamie, one of the football team, tells Ms. Li he isn't playing because his football helmet is broken and he can't get a new one. Ms. Li realises the school's financial problems have reached 'crisis proportions'.
2. On which day does Ms. Li schedule a School Review meeting?

Answer: Super Bowl Sunday

Ms. Li arranges a public meeting on a day when she knows no-one will show up because she is trying to get money for the school by advertising cola in school. She doesn't want anyone to attend because she knows people disagree with this plan.
3. What is the name of the soda company that is advertised all over Lawndale High?

Answer: Ultra Cola

Ultra Cola's advertising in the school starts off with a few posters and gets progressively worse, until the whole school is covered in a mass of bright green advertisements, huge soda machines and the cheerleaders being forced to wear can-shaped uniforms.
4. Who complains to the Superintendant of Schools?

Answer: Daria

Daria asks Jodie if she will do something about the Ultra Cola advertising all over the school but Jodie says Daria should do something if she feels that strongly about it. Daria goes to see the Superintendant but he says he sees nothing wrong with the situation and is thinking about letting all the schools in the area make money the same way. Daria asks him to come to Lawndale High to see if the scheme is working.
5. What is the name of Lawndale High's football team?

Answer: Lions

They are, of course, the Lawndale Lions. The team get new uniforms, a scoreboard and tackling dummies out of the deal with Ultra Cola. Unfortunately, Ms. Li makes them drink so much cola in order to reeach the sales quotas, the team all get sick and have to forfeit a game.
6. Who is the only player on the football team who has an average above 'C'?

Answer: Mack

All of the other players, including Kevin, Joey, Jeffy and Jamie are not very bright and so Ms. Li offers to raise their average by half a point for every ten cans of soda they drink.
7. How much money is the school being paid to advertise the soda?

Answer: $50,000

Ms. Li doesn't care that the plan is unethical, she just wants more money for the school. Most of its original budget has been spent on school security, including a satellite transmission jammer and a polygraph machine.
8. Brittany loves the cheerleading squad's new uniforms.

Answer: false

She is very upset about them. She says of the can-shaped outfits 'You can't make a human pyramid like this! Everyone keeps rolling off!'
9. What does Ms. Li use to smash open the soda machines?

Answer: An axe

She grabs a fire axe and starts smashing open all the machines because she has gone crazy over the thought that not enough soda is being consumed. Of course, this doesn't help as the soda that falls onto the floor has not been paid for so she is still not going to reach her sales targets. Eventually she is taken away in an ambulance, just when the Superintendant of Schools shows up to see how the soda contract is working out.
10. By the end of the episode, all traces of the soda company's advertising is gone from the school.

Answer: false

Most of the lurid green posters have gone, but there are still enormous advertisements painted on the roof of the school. Some plane passengers are shown looking down at the Ultra Cola logo as they pass over Lawndale. I hope you enjoyed the quiz.
