Garfield is sleeping soundly when Binky the Clown on TV cries out in his obnoxious voice "Heeeeey kiiiiids!" and makes him exercise. Garfield doesn't know it's Halloween until Binky tells him, after which he makes plans for trick-or-treating.

"Garfield's Halloween Adventure" is also called "Garfield in Disguise".

Answer: Garfield can get twice the candy.

His idea is that he will get all the candy Odie collects, minus one piece which Odie can have. He figures Odie is too stupid to realize that he should really keep all the candy he collects.

His first mate is Odie the Stupid, who has four peg legs before Garfield knocks them all off. Early in the special, when talking to Jon, Garfield claims that "Halloween is my middle name. Gar-Halloween-field."

Garfield and Odie jump off the dock to escape the ghosts. Evidently, the pirates can't cross water, since they don't follow the pets to the mainland. Garfield can't swim, so Odie drags him to shore, where they find their candy bags. Garfield then gives Odie his fair share of the loot for saving him.

Garfield is too wound up to sleep, so he turns on the TV and finds a pirate movie marathon...hosted by the creepy old man from the island. What's more, it looks like he's wearing Garfield's pirate hat. Garfield then goes to sleep, using his candy bag as a blanket, not thinking that his body heat will certainly melt the candy.

The scale thinks he's Welles based on his weight. It asks for his autograph, claiming it's seen "Citizen Kane" eight times. Garfield then destroys the scale. Garfield has a similarly antagonistic relationship with a talking scale in the comics.

Jon takes the turkey out of the freezer only a few hours before the meal, so it's still frozen when dinnertime comes. At Garfield's suggestion, he calls Grandma for help. The turkey is so frozen that Grandma has to use a chainsaw to cut it before deep fat frying the slices. Liz hears it, and Jon says it's only the dishwasher.

Liz can't believe that Jon is serious about recounting the history of Thanksgiving before the meal. She eventually falls asleep, but is later impressed by the dinner.

Doc Boy starts out playing and singing very badly, which is astonishing considering how many years' worth of lessons he's had. Grandma takes over with a jazzy rendition of "O Christmas Tree".

He finds a bundle of letters in the barn. They turn out to be love letters that Grandma's husband wrote her before they were married. They'd been lost for years, and Grandma is happy to have them back.

Odie gives Garfield a custom-made back scratcher. Garfield sees Odie make it but doesn't realize it's a gift for him.
