Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Beatings of my broken heart will rise to first place on the chart."

Answer: Those Magic Changes

In "Grease: Live" this song is performed by Doody (Jordin Fisher) during Danny's (Aaron Tveit) attempts to impress Sandy (Julianne Hough) by joining a sports team.

In the original Broadway production of "Grease", Doody is an aspiring rock star and often carries around a guitar, something that was eliminated in the 1978 film but reprised in "Grease: Live". This song only appears in part in the film and is not sung by Doody but by Sha Na Na at the dance.
2. "Even Rock Hudson lost his heart to Doris Day."

Answer: Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee

This song is sung by Rizzo (Vanessa Hudgens) at Frenchy's (Carly Rae Jepsen) sleepover. Marty, Jan (Keke Palmer and Kether Donahue), and Frenchy sing back up. The song pokes fun at Sandy and her goody-two shoes attitude.

In the original production of "Grease", Rizzo sings this song with the Burger Palace Boys (the stage name for the T-Birds) and not with the Pink Ladies. Some of the lyrics had to be cleaned up because "Grease: Live" aired during prime time.
3. "He got friendly holding my hand. She got friendly down in the sand."

Answer: Summer Nights

The first sentence is sung by Sandy and the second by Danny. "Summer Nights" is sung in the beginning of the production. Sandy tells the Pink Ladies about her romantic summer with Danny, who she paints as a perfect gentleman. Danny, meanwhile, is telling the T-Birds about his summer with Sandy and paints it as much raunchier than she does.

In most productions of the play, this song remains unchanged.
4. "Hearing from you can make the day so much better. Getting a souvenir or maybe a letter."

Answer: Freddy, My Love

This song is sung by Marty as she reminisces about all of her lovers, Freddy being her favorite. This song takes place in a dreamlike sequence during Frenchy's sleepover party. It does not appear in the 1978 film, but the scene where Marty talks about her boyfriends is kept from the original play.
5. "I could flirt with all the guys. Smile at them and bat my eyes."

Answer: There Are Worse Things I Could Do

Rizzo sings this at the end of the production when she believes she could be pregnant and Patty Simcox (Elle McLemore) talks trash about her. It reveals, for the first time, Rizzo's true feelings and that she is just more than a tough exterior and a girl who likes the boys. In the days after "Grease: Live" aired, this was the most rewatched song on YouTube, according to Tivo.
6. "We'll get some purple pitched taillights and thirty inch fins, oh yeah."

Answer: Greased Lightnin'

"Greased Lightnin'" is another song that had to be cleaned up for "Grease: Live". The lead voices in the song are Danny and Kenickie (Carlos PenaVega) but Doody, Sonny (Andrew Call), and Putzie (David Del Rio) are on backup. This song also featured female dancers who perform with the T-Birds, unlike in the other versions.
7. "Sunny day, won't you finally come my way? If I stay so brave till then?"

Answer: All I Need is an Angel

This was an original song written for "Grease: Live". Frenchy sings this immediately before the Teen Angels (Boyz II Men) come and sing "Beauty School Dropout", encouraging her to go back to Rydell. During the live performance, this song was noted for having technical problems and was generally not well received by the audience.
8. "Guess mine is not the first heart broken. My eyes are not the first to cry."

Answer: Hopelessly Devoted To You

This song was originally written for the 1978 film and did not appear in the Broadway play. In the film, Sandy sings this after Frenchy's slumber party. In "Grease: Live", Sandy sings this after she runs out of the school dance when Danny dances with Cha Cha (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer). Because the song was very popular from the movie, subsequent Broadway reprisals have included it in productions in the same spot it appears in "Grease: Live".
9. "If you're filled with affection, you're too shy to convey. Better take my direction. Feel your way."

Answer: You're the One That I Want

These words are sung by Sandy as she lures Danny into her new bad persona. It is the second to last song of the production. In addition to Sandy, Danny also sings parts of the song, as well as the other Pink Ladies and T-Birds on backup. The scene takes place in the school gym which has been transformed into a carnival before the it moves to the school grounds for "We Go Together" where a larger carnival is set up.
10. "Stranded at the drive-in. Branded a fool. What will they say Monday at school?"

Answer: Sandy

Sometimes this song is erroneously called "Stranded at the Drive-in" after the opening lyrics but it is officially called "Sandy". It is sung by Danny after when Sandy gets out of his car at the drive-in after he got too touchy-feely with her.
