Ollie, along with he and his mate's girlfriend, bought some drink illegally and were drinking it in a playground, when he got caught by police. Ollie was lucky to get off with a caution after he named the place where he got the alcohol and the shop owner identified him.

Michael St John Thomas came from a wealthy and privileged background. An ex of Maddie Parker, he arrived in the village and began to rekindle his relationship with Maddie. Unknown to Maddie, Michael had a mental health problem that displayed itself with anger and jealousy whenever Maddie spoke of another man who she knew. What was worse for Maddie was Michael's parents were racist, seeing Maddie as beneath marrying Michael because she wasn't white.
