Joss Whedon has said that he wrote the spaceship as the tenth cast member - as important to the series as all the actors.

2. Who plays Captain Malcolm Reynolds?

Nathan Fillion had a major guest role on another Joss Whedon show, 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' after 'Firefly' was cancelled. He played Caleb, the evil priest who worked with the First in 'Buffy's' final season.

Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk voiced the commentary for this episode on the DVD. They said their bodies ached from having to act as if they were being electrocuted.
