Richard, after arranging some objects on a table, tells John, "Okay, now tell me, John, which of these things belong to you?" In an effort to protect Eloise, Richard renders her unconscious. Jack is shocked and wants to know what Richard is doing. Richard replies, "I'm protecting our leader. Get back. She's gonna be angry when she wakes up, but that's a lot better than being dead. She ordered me to help you, we helped you, now you're on your own. I'm taking her out the way we came in."
9. In the season five finale, Richard is leading a group of people to a certain location. What is their destination?

Richard replies, "It's Richard, actually," whereupon Ilana asks Richard the enigmatic question, "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" Richard supplies the correct answer in Latin. Convinced of Richard's identity, Ilana proceeds to show Richard the corpse of what appears to be the genuine John Locke.
