1. What age had Tom turned in the very first episode?

Answer: 40

Tom had turned 40 in the first episode, 'Plough Your Own Furrow'. He began to look at his life and decide that something was missing. This was when he came up with the idea of becoming self-sufficient.
2. Who does Margot bring in to try and prevent the Goods from keeping pigs?

Answer: Mr Carter

Mr Carter was chairman of the residents' association. He was played by Robert Gillespie. Margot was very impressed with the way that Mr Carter was getting things done and hoped he would tell Tom and Barbara that they could not keep pigs. She was disappointed.
3. What was Margot doing behind "The Green Door"?

Answer: Attending a slimming club

Margot wanted to keep this a secret, so she pretended that she was going riding. Tom and Barbara discovered that she wasn't going riding and thought she was having an affair.

Answer: False

Margot was adamant that the Goods did NOT go to the riding stables for their manure - this was because she didn't want them to discover that she was no longer going riding.

It got crushed on the journey home and the sails no longer went round! Margot blamed this on Jerry for cramming the bag full of duty free alcohol.

Eileen was played by Liz Robertson and was the catalyst for the row between Tom and Barbara, as Tom spent all night gushing over Eileen, her beautiful dress and all the lovely clothes she must wear as a model.

The production was so bad that they were taken off after just one night because the Mayor said they gave the borough a bad name!
