When the sound effects guy quit the show, Garfield was forced to replace him with the only willing applicant: Odie. Unfortunately, though Odie has many talents (pff...ha ha...no, he doesn't), being a sound effects technician is not one of them. None of the sound effects in the episode matched correctly, but it was extremely entertaining nonetheless.

"The Rooster" was a parody of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven". In Orson's dream, he remembered his childhood girlfriend, Lenore, whose parents thought of Orson's brothers as a bad example (which, of course, they were), so they took Lenore and moved away. Incensed by this memory, Orson pummeled his brothers while they were attempting to rob the farm for the umpteenth time.

Answer: An ocean liner

After one too many practical jokes, the farm gang (sans Roy) gathered to complain about them. Roy overheard them and thought he had been fired, so he took the only other job that was available: a spot on the Buddy Bears' show. After being abused even more than he was the first time he was on their show, Roy went back to the farm and begged for his job back, a job that he had not actually lost in the first place.

Answer: Sam

"Sam the Cat", a Garfield Production by Garfield, consisted of three minutes of cheap animation in which Garfield insulted Jon, Odie, and Nermal before sleeping for twenty-two straight minutes. It was not a ratings hit.

Answer: Twentieth kind: When the UFO makes cheese sandwiches for everyone

A close encounter of the seventy-first kind is when the UFO makes cheese sandwiches for everyone in the neighborhood.

After Orson read everyone a book about UFOs, the wolf convinced Roy and Wade (as one team) and Booker and Sheldon (as the other team) that real aliens were invading and that the only way to repel them was to pretend to be aliens that had already taken over the earth. The four ended up attempting to scare each other off while the wolf stole the chickens in the commotion. In a crazy coincidence, however, aliens really were invading and hit the wolf with a freeze ray. The aliens had themselves a close encounter of the sixty-third kind.

A close encounter of the sixty-fifth kind is when the UFO rotates the hubcaps on your car. Another close encounter of an unnumbered kind is when the UFO forgets which laundry it took your shirts to.

Answer: Whiting

Garfield frequently stole burgers from Mr. Burnside's backyard barbecues. One time, he stole the entire grill! Mr. Burnside chased after him (past a sign advertising Whiting's Tree Farm), but he ended up riding the grill down the street and past a police car. The cops arrested him for speeding and reckless driving.

Answer: The harmonica

After numerous attempts to regain the food the ants had stolen, Garfield gave up and decided to join the ants in their picnic heists. After all, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Answer: The ketchup

In another of "Garfield's Tales of Scary Stuff", all of the food in Garfield's refrigerator came to life. They tried to attack Garfield until he realized that he could just eat them. They fled for their lives shortly thereafter.

Answer: Iceberg

In a parody of "The Raven", titled "The Rooster", both Roy and Orson's brothers attempted to rob the farm of its vegetable supply at the same time. In remembrance of the times his brothers would use him as a football, Orson successfully got rid of his brothers, but not until after they had used Roy as a golf club.

Where was the middle brother. Who was the youngest. Why was their sister. Their father was a reporter. He asked a lot of questions.

As you can probably guess, this entire episode was a "Who's on First" routine. It was a lot of fun.
