Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chris is brought to Oz to serve a sentence of 88 years for a string of offences. Which of the following is NOT one of his initial convictions?

Answer: Kidnapping

Chris' 88 years are given for his crimes of murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving and driving under the influence. He is not eligible for parole for 50 years. He is later sent to death row for an additional murder charge, though this sentence is later overturned.
2. When Chris first arrives in Oz, he has sustained an injury. How do we know this?

Answer: His arm is in plaster.

During Chris' arrest, he is chased by police whilst he is on a motorcycle. The chase eventually ends with him falling from his bike, and breaking his arm. Far from being a handicap, he uses the cast to his advantage, breaking the nose of an Aryan inmate during a staged argument.
3. At the beginning of season 4, during Guillaume Tarrant's rampage, Chris is shot. Where is he hit?

Answer: Shoulder

When Guillaume Tarrant starts firing a gun around Emerald City, a number of inmates (and one guard) are shot. Chris is in the wrong place at the wrong time and takes a bullet to the shoulder. Beecher manages to pull him to safety, but he still has to spend a long time in the hospital after sustaining internal damage.
4. In season 4, the brief reconciliation between Chris and Tobias Beecher ends when Beecher tries to kill Chris in their cell. Why does he do this?

Answer: He believes Chris was involved in the kidnapping of his children.

After arranging the kidnap of Beecher's children, Vern Schillinger forces another inmate, Eli Zabitz, to give Beecher false information about Chris making the arrangements. Distraught over the situation, Beecher accuses Chris of the kidnapping and viciously attacks him. By the time he discovers the truth, it is too late and Chris refuses to forgive him.
5. Chris teams up with Ryan O'Reilly in order to discredit new unit manager Martin Querns and his record of no violence by committing two murders - Nate Shemin and Mondo Brown. Why does Chris choose these two inmates?

Answer: They are both Beecher's former lovers.

After Chris and Beecher split, Beecher becomes promiscuous, often taunting Chris about his partners. When Chris realises he needs to have some people killed, he chooses Mondo and Nate, knowing that they have both slept with Beecher. As well as assuaging his jealousy, this also allows Chris to subtly let Beecher know that he is behind the murders and to make him feel guilty for putting Mondo and Nate in the firing line.
6. An old friend of Chris, Ronald Barlog, comes to Oz and soon becomes a pawn in the power games between Chris and Beecher. Ultimately he betrays Chris to the FBI, leading Chris to murder him in which manner?

Answer: Chris breaks Ronald's neck.

Ronald Barlog is assigned to be Beecher's cell mate when he first arrives in Emerald City. Knowing how much it will upset Chris, Beecher attempts to start a sexual relationship with Ronald, only to have Chris step in and claim Ronald as his own. When Beecher discovers Ronald is going to inform the FBI that Chris was involved in a string of homosexual torture-murders, he tells Chris. Chris then approaches Ronald in a supply room, under the pretence of a sexual encounter, and snaps his neck.
7. Where is Chris sent to stand trial for the murder of Hank Schillinger?

Answer: Massachusetts

After Hank's body is found, Beecher is worried that Schillinger will realise he is to blame for Hank's death. He knows that Schillinger will retaliate by attempting to kill Beecher's daughter, Holly. Chris steps up and falsely admits to ordering the hit, in order to save Holly.

He is sent to a prison in Massachusetts, where the body was found, to await trial. He is later returned to Oz when it is discovered that he had no involvement in the murder.
8. After Beecher gets paroled, Chris arranges for him to be caught violating parole so that he will be brought back to prison. What prompts him to do this?

Answer: He gets jealous of Beecher's new relationship.

After getting paroled, Beecher starts to get his life back and begins a relationship with Holly's (female) teacher. While visiting Chris, he tells him about his new girlfriend and Chris gets jealous. He asks Beecher to help him smuggle some prescription drugs across the border from Canada, in order to help his ex-wife who has cancer. Beecher reluctantly agrees and Chris calls the police and tells them what is about to happen. Beecher is brought back to Oz, furious and devastated.
9. Which job is Chris given during the production of "Macbeth"?

Answer: Prop manager

Beecher plays the role of Macduff while Schillinger is given the lead role of Macbeth. Chris takes the role of prop manager in order to assist Schillinger with the "accidental" death of Beecher, by switching Schillinger's fake knife with a real one. Chris, however, betrays Schillinger and actually gives the real knife to Beecher, causing him to stab and kill Schillinger on stage. Schillinger's death is ruled accidental and neither Chris nor Beecher are prosecuted.
10. After Chris dies in the final episode, who is told they will be charged for his death?

Answer: Beecher

Chris and Beecher argue near one of the balconies in Emerald City. Chris steps back towards the barrier, shouts "Beecher, no!", then plummets backwards over the edge to his death. Beecher had not touched Chris, the death is seemingly suicide, set up to look like murder, but he is told he will be charged.

As a final act, Chris sent a mysterious package to the mail room. When the Aryans open it, they release a poisonous powder, killing them all and causing the evacuation of the entire prison.
