Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the show, 'Who's The Boss?', what was the name of the little boy Tony took into his care when the boy's grandmother's health was failing?

Answer: Billy

Played by Jonathan Halyalkar, Billy was added in the 1990 season when it was clear Danny Pintauro had outgrown any youthful appeal. Little Billy didn't fare much better, however, and was soon yanked from the regular cast.
2. What was the name of the actress who played Stephanie, the young relative added to 'All In The Family' shortly after Mike and Gloria moved away?

Answer: Danielle Brisebois

Brisebois is now a singer, and looks a lot better without those badly-cut bangs. Sadly, little Steffie only lasted a couple of seasons, herself.
3. What digit was used for the name of the boy who joined the cast of 'Married With Children' late in the show?

Answer: Seven

Played by Shane Sweet, Seven Wanker was Peggy's cousin. Fittingly, he joined the show in season number seven, but--you guessed it--didn't last till season eight.
4. Cousin Rose moved in with the 'Waltons' late in the show's run. What were the names of her add-on grandchildren?

Answer: Serena and Jeffrey

When will these producers ever learn?! Serena and Jeffrey Burton, aka Martha Nix and Keith Mitchell, spent only a season or two on the show until they were considered less than compelling.
5. True or False: 'Karate Kid' Ralph Macchio was added to the cast of 'Eight is Enough' as a relative of one of the characters?

Answer: True

I guess eight wasn't enough after all, as the young actor was slotted in as Abby's troubled nephew. His appearances lasted only from 1980 through 1981.
6. What was the name of Stephen and Elise's youngest kid on 'Family Ties'?

Answer: Andrew

Stephen and Elise got busy creating Andrew once Tina Yothers went from cute to awkward in no time flat. Andrew--who aged about four years in one season--was played mainly by Brian Bonsall.
7. 'The Cosby Show' had a string of add-on kids who were, of course, wise beyond their years. What was the name of the one who was step-child to Denise?

Answer: Olivia

Rudy was Denise's youngest sister, while Nelson and Winnie were the twins of her older sister, Sondra.
8. What "Titanic" movie star was brought in to boost ratings on the 1980s show, 'Growing Pains'?

Answer: Leonardo DiCaprio

DiCaprio played Luke Bower, a homeless kid to whom Jason Seaver gave shelter. That must have been a bitter pill for Jeremy Miller, aka Ben Seaver, who was about the same age as DiCaprio.
9. Okay, here's a tough one: What was the FIRST name of the mop-topped, redheaded character who moved into the Drummond penthouse on 'Diff'rent Strokes'?

Answer: Sam

Perhaps the most annoying character to be added to an ailing sitcom, Sam was played by Danny Cooksey. He was the son of Mr. Drummond's new wife, Maggie McKinney, aka 'Designing Women''s Dixie Carter.
10. What was the name of the wisecracking pre-teen son of Anne Romano's boyfriend Nick on 'One Day At A Time'?

Answer: Alex

Brought in around the time Julie and Barbara were written out of the show, precocious Alex Handris was portrayed by Glenn Scarpelli. Faring better than most former child actors, Scarpelli is apparently a successful TV and film producer.
11. Which of the following TV stars joined the cast of 'Gimme A Break!' later in the show's run?

Answer: Joey Lawrence

Most famous for his role on 'Blossom', Joey Lawrence was a mushroom-headed replacement for the aging daughters on the show. He was later joined by his real-life sibling Matthew, who played his brother.
12. What was the name of the cousin added to the cast of 'The Brady Bunch', when the stars were getting a little long in the tooth?

Answer: Oliver

Introduced when Mike and Carol were 'on vacation', Cousin Oliver was played by Robbie Rist. Sadly, he befell the predictable fate of most add-ons, and lasted through only one season--1974, when the series was cancelled.
13. On the TV show 'Full House', what were the names of Jesse and Becky's twins?

Answer: Nicky and Alex

Thrust into the show's ensemble as the 'Michelles' neared regular girl-size, the twins were played by Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit for most of the episodes.
14. What was the name of the latch-key kid hired to do odd jobs and insert precocious pre-teen punchlines into 'The Facts Of Life'?

Answer: Andy

Spunky Andy Moffet was portrayed by MacKenzie Astin throughout the 1985-1988 seasons. He wasn't destined to be the most famous 'Facts' add-on, though. That honour was held by George Clooney, who played handyman-hunk George Burnett.
15. On the TV show 'Webster', what was the name of George's nephew, introduced as a late-series sidekick to the aging Webster?

Answer: Nicky

Corin 'Corky' Nemec played Nicky Papadapolis in the last season of the show. He also appeared in the television show 'Parker Louis Can't Lose'. Hope you enjoyed the trip down add-on actor memory lane!
