Callie was ten years old when their mother died in a car crash. Jude's father had been driving under the influence, so he was sent to prison. Callie and Jude had been placed in many foster homes over the years. The first episode showed Callie in juvenile detention. She'd been sent there after damaging her foster father's car. He'd been hurting Jude, her little brother, and Callie lost control.

Maia Mitchell was the actress who played Callie. She was born in Australia in 1993. Hayden Byerly played Jude. Prior to this role, he played Micah on "Parenthood".

Stef and Lena adopted Jesus and Mariana when they were five. Their mother was a drug addict who left them unattended for long stretches of time. They'd spent time in several foster homes, when Stef saw them in the police station waiting to be sent to a new home. In season one, Ana manipulated the twins for help. This eventually led to Stef getting shot. In season two, Ana became sober with Mike's help.

Jake T. Austin played Jesus, Cierra Ramirez played Mariana, and Alexandra Barreto played Ana. Jake previously played Max on "The Wizards of Waverly Place", Cierra played Kathy on "The Secret Life of the American Teenager", and Alexandra was on "Justified" and "Parenthood".

Mike and Stef were both cops in seasons one and two. They'd been married prior to the series opening, and had Brandon together. They divorced and Stef met Lena at Anchor Bay Charter, where Brandon went to school. They adopted the twins together and eventually married. Mike suffered with alcoholism after the divorce, and Brandon was mostly raised by his moms. Stef and Lena took in Callie, and then later they took in Jude. In season two, Jude was officially adopted by his new moms.

Callie also became friends with Becka, Kiara, Cole, and Carmen. Rosie O'Donnell played Rita, their house mother. Callie eventually went back to live with the Adams-Fosters, but came back to visit. Becka caused their home to burn down, leaving Girls United without a place to live.

Alex Saxon played Wyatt in 21 episodes between the first two seasons. Callie ran away with Wyatt, briefly, when Wyatt was forced to move out of town. She went back home, and then he came back to be with her. Truthfully, Callie and Brandon were in love, but foster children were not allowed to be in romantic relationships with housemates. And, since Callie wanted to be adopted by the Adams-Foster family, she also could not be involved with her own brother. Alex also played the part of a transgender woman named Chloe, who was trying to get money for a sex change operation, on "Ray Donovan".

Nathan, Lucas, and Marvin were characters on "One Tree Hill".

Jesus became a wrestling sensation kind of overnight at Anchor Bay. In season two, he was recruited by a military high school in Colorado, all expenses paid, to finish out his high school career. When Mariana found out, she investigated it, and told Jesus it was a great college prep school.

He wanted to go, but was afraid to leave Mariana without her family. She told him he should go because it was best for him.

Answer: Brandon

Brandon played mostly classical piano, and was looking forward to a career in that field of music. Unfortunately, he became involved in a fake ID money making scheme at school, which led to his association with the principal's son Vico. When Brandon backed out of their venture, he also forced Vico to refund money to students.

This led to Vico organizing an attack on Brandon, which resulted in his hand being smashed in a car door. Brandon recovered most of his function back, but could not play classical music as easily as before. So, Brandon turned to more mainstream music and joined a band called Someone's Little Sister.

In the season two finale, "The End of the Beginning", Brandon auditioned for a summer program with Idyllwild, where, if accepted, he'd play classical piano once more.

He actually did this twice. The first time, his younger daughter (Sophia) tore them up and they were never filed. She revealed this to Callie during the fundraiser Robert organized for Girls United. Callie was furious with Sophia. Then, when Robert admitted his regret and refused to sign new papers, she was furious with him. In the season two finale, he finally gave Callie what she wanted and signed the papers for a second time. Stef and Lena were finally free to adopt Callie.

Bailee Madison played Sophia Quinn. She also played young Snow White in the series "Once Upon a Time". Kerr Smith played Robert. Fans may remember him as Jack McPhee from "Dawson's Creek", Kyle Brody from "Charmed", or Ryan Thomas from "Life Unexpected".

After the school dance-off, Ana was driving the twins home. She started experiencing what she thought were labor pains. Mariana said that the hospital was only two blocks away, and Ana said she could drive there. Sadly, Ana was distracted by her pain and drove into an intersection where they were hit hard on the side. After Stef dropped Lena and Callie at home, she received the call over her police radio about the accident. She said she was nearby and would arrive at the scene. The dispatcher alerted that there was already one confirmed fatality at the site. The scene changed to the crash site, and Jesus and Ana were not moving in the front seats. And, it appeared as though Mariana had possibly been thrown through the rear passenger side window. She was the only one of them not wearing a seat belt when they were hit. The season ended without us knowing who had been killed.

I am unsure where Jude ended up. Brandon was in the middle of his audition at Mike's house, and even missed a beat at the exact moment of the crash. Lena and Stef had just received the good news that they could adopt Callie, but Jude was not with them at the time.
