Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During her college education, Dr. Allison Cameron was awarded an A for a subject, until she pointed out a mistake her professor made, lowering her grade. What was the subject?

Answer: Calculus

Cameron was one of the original team members, hired about six months before the pilot episode. She often irritated House with her morals and drive to 'do the right thing', even if it involved sabotaging herself. Detective Tritter mentioned her calculus grade when he interviewed the team for evidence against House in season 3.
2. What type of cancer was Dr. James Wilson diagnosed with?

Answer: Thymoma

Specifically, it was stage II thymoma. Thymoma is a cancer of the thymus, part of the lymphatic system. Although Thymoma only has a mortality rate of 10%, Wilson's cancer was terminal. He discovered his cancer in season 8, and the show ended with the impression that he would die within months.
3. What was Dr. Ron Simpson's specialisation?

Answer: Orthopaedic surgeon

Dr. Simpson appeared in several "House" episodes. He and House often clashed. He was also a member of the Board of Directors and the Transplant Committee.
4. After Dr. Eric Foreman quit late in season 3, he got his own Diagnostic Department. What hospital was this department in?

Answer: New York Mercy

Foreman quit because he did not want to turn into House. At New York Mercy Hospital, he disregarded protocol to treat his patient, much like House regularly did, but Dr. Schaeffer, the Dean of Medicine, found this unacceptable and fired him. He then returned to Princeton-Plainsboro after unsuccessfully looking elsewhere for work.

Other employers were unwilling to hire somebody so similar to House.
5. Why did Dr. Remy Hadley spend time in prison?

Answer: Excessive prescribing

Dr. Remy Hadley, better known as 'Thirteen', pled guilty to excessive prescribing and spent time in prison. This was revealed after an extended absence, and House picked her up from the prison. Her 'excessive prescribing' involved euthanising her brother, who, like her mother and herself, suffered from Huntington's Chorea, a genetic disorder.

Her nickname 'Thirteen' came from House's game to hire three new fellows.
6. Although her medical practise was somewhat limited in the series, due to her administrative duties, what area did Dr. Lisa Cuddy do her fellowship in?

Answer: Endocrinology

Endocrinologists specialise in how hormones influence bodily systems, and the subsequent diseases from excess or too little hormone. As Dean of Medicine, she rarely performed medical procedures or diagnoses, however we occasionally saw her participate in House's case, usually when she was dissatisfied with his performance.
7. What were the last words spoken by Dr. Amber Volakis before she died?

Answer: "That's not the last feeling I want to experience"

At the end of season 4, Amber, who was in a relationship with Wilson at the time, ended up in a bus crash after going to pick up a drunk House from the bar. Her kidneys were destroyed by the crash, and she suffered from amantadine poisoning, as her body could not process her flu pills, and her organs shut down.

After her death, Amber returned as hallucinations, and was frequently mentioned throughout the remainder of the season. "That's not the last feeling want to experience" were her last words before she died, as Wilson asked her why she wasn't angry.
8. Dr. Robert Chase, who began a 'friends with benefits' relationship with Dr. Cameron, decided to tell her weekly that he was falling for her. On what day of the week did he tell her he liked her?

Answer: Tuesday

Cameron claimed to only want a sexual relationship, which was compromised when Chase developed feelings. After weekly 'reminders' of his feelings, Cameron and Chase eventually started a relationship and married, though the marriage ended in divorce.
9. In House's game at the start of season 4, one of the applicants was not a qualified doctor. What was his name?

Answer: Henry Dobson

The other three were doctors in House's game, though Taub was the only one to gain a position. House fired Dobson as their thought processes were very similar, and he didn't need somebody to tell him what he was already thinking.
10. Which of the following did Dr. Gregory House never do?

Answer: Faked lung cancer in an attempt to get into a clinical trial

Whilst House did, indeed, fake cancer in order to get into a clinical trial, it was brain cancer he faked, not lung cancer. The trial would have involved installing a drug-dispensing chip into the pleasure centre of his brain. His physostigmine overdose was done in conjunction with hypnosis to recover memories of the bus crash that claimed Amber's life.

The thermometer was left in the rectum of Detective Tritter, sparking his investigation into House's narcotic use. He injected nitroglycerin to 'prove' that a drug developed by an old classmate of his did not prevent migraines.
