Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Season two contestant Trenyce never performed which of the following songs?

Answer: "And So It Goes"

"And So It Goes" was actually sung by Carmen Rasmusen.
Trenyce's "Power of Love" and "I Need You" were lackluster performances according to Simon. Trenyce was eliminated the night she sang "Proud Mary" and "Love Will Keep Us Together." Simon called the latter, "fabulous".
2. During season three, the top nine finalists sang Elton John Songs. After this idol's performance, Simon predicted his/her impending elimination. The next night, s/he was eliminated.

Answer: Camile Velasco

Camile Velasco sang "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." Simon said "Camile, somewhere in Las Vegas, a television will be thrown out the window. and that is where Elton John is watching this show. Camile, I'm sorry, that was honestly the end of the road for you I think. Didn't work".
3. Paula often complimented this season two contestant's "upper register", especially with such songs as "Against All Odds" and "Drift Away". What was his name?

Answer: Corey Clark

As we all remember, Corey Clark was disqualified. He also sang "This Old Heart of Mine."
4. During season five, Ryan Seacrest removed her high-heels before she sang "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing". What was her name?

Answer: Mandisa

Mandisa felt discomfort wearing her heels and Ryan offered to remove them for her. She sang her Stevie Wonder song barefoot.
5. Of the following season four contestants, who lasted the longest in the competition?

Answer: Lindsey Cardinale

Amanda, Janay, and Travis all failed to muster enough votes to be part of the top twelve. Lindsey Cardinale was eliminated, placing 12th, after she sang "Knock on Wood".
6. Who was the first season's wildcard pick?

Answer: RJ Helton

RJ sang "I'll Be There" as his first song, which didn't earn him enough votes. After he sang "Lately" by Stevie Wonder, the judges unanimously allowed him to go further in the competition. He ended up attaining 5th place in the season.
7. Simon told Carrie Underwood she would "win 'American Idol' and sell more records than any other idol". What song did Carrie sing that night?

Answer: "Alone"

Carrie sang "Alone" for her fifth performance on "American Idol". Even so early in the season, Simon knew she would win and several weeks later, her many fans made it happen.
8. Trenyce, Leah Labelle, Jennifer Hudson, Vonzell Solomon, and Katharine McPhee have all performed their own renditions of what song?

Answer: "I Have Nothing"

Most were given great song reviews by the judges. However, Katharine was told she was not nearly as good as Whitney Houston. On elimination night, the judges retracted their statement, saying that it sounded better on TV.
9. After receiving critical remarks from the judges, Jasmine Trias shed tears after her performance of what song?

Answer: "It's Raining Men"

Some believed her tears earned her enough votes to share the spotlight with Diana DeGarmo. Fantasia Barrino and Latoya London were once again in the bottom two. Sadly, Latoya sang "Don't Rain on My Parade" as her last song on the show.
10. What did George Huff and Carmen Rasmusen have in common?

Answer: were Simon's wildcard picks

Carmen sang "Wild Angels" on country night. George got to perform two songs on "Big Band" week and was eliminated, but Carmen was eliminated during "Diane Warren songs" week.
