Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Appearing after Krem Quay, which area of the game is Krazy Kremland, chronologically?

Answer: Fourth

Krazy Kremland appears fourth in the game following Gangplank Galleon (the first), Crocodile Cauldron (the second), and Krem Quay (the third). It also happens to be the first area in the game not to feature King K. Rool's old pirate ship, which broke apart gradually over the course of the first three stages. Krazy Kremland is home to both a dangerous amusement park and a series of Zinger hives, filled to the brim with ooey-gooey honey.

It's an all-around dangerous place, just like a regular theme park, and filled with stinging creatures...just like a regular theme park. Nothing out of the ordinary.
2. Which animal companion appears in Hornet Hole, giving access to difficult-to-reach barrels and the DK Coin?

Answer: Squitter

Hornet Hole is the first of only a few hive-themed levels in the game, and it's also the first level to appear in Krazy Kremland (or, rather, outside of Krazy Kremland). Here, Diddy and Dixie need to navigate their way through a Zinger Nest, climbing up sheer walls oozing honey (which will actually allow them to jump up on the straight surface). Partway through the level you can also find Squitter the Spider on a high platform, and using him will allow you to access barrels that will shoot you up past the honey walls. Completing the level will also open up the nearby Kong Kollege.
3. Is the Target Terror level completed in a mine cart?

Answer: No

While the coaster levels would, technically, be "Donkey Kong Country 2's" equivalent of the original's mine cart levels, Target Terror is actually completed on a track with Diddy and Dixie straddling a skull-shaped vehicle. Since the level is set in an amusement part, it would be a skull coaster car. Nonetheless, the level is as close as the game gets to mine carts-- the Kongs need to travel along the track, in this case hitting checkmark barrels and avoiding cross barrels to open and avoid closing gates on their way to the finish.

The Kongs can jump off the skull car at any time to hit their targets.
4. Unlike the first bramble level of the game (found in Krem Quay), Bramble Scramble, the third level of Krazy Kremland, does not contain a single barrel (other than DK Barrels containing Diddy and Dixie)?

Answer: False

Although Bramble Blast, the final non-boss level of Krem Quay, was known for containing the most barrels of any single level in "Donkey Kong Country 2", Bramble Scramble was nearly the polar opposite, containing a total number of barrels you could count on a single hand. Savvy players would also likely take into account that almost each regular level of the game contains a single star barrel denoting the halfway point (and it's in there). There's also a single bonus barrel near the start of the stage. Regardless, there's another blasting barrel behind the start of the level.

The next level of the game, Rickety Race, actually contains a single DK Barrel.
5. How many enemy racers appear in Rickety Race?

Answer: Nine

Tricky, tricky. Like the earlier Target Terror, this fourth level of Krazy Kremland is played while riding a skull car on a roller coaster track. While not as barrel-heavy as the previous one since you're unable to leave the car (it actually jumps when you jump), it's still a race to the finish.

In fact, you're on the course with nine other Kremling racers in skull cars (since you start in tenth place, it goes without saying that there are nine ahead of you). You can finish in any place; it doesn't matter if you ride at leisure or to win.
6. What do you receive for winning the Rickety Race course?

Answer: A DK Coin

As added incentive during the Rickety Race, each Kremling you overtake holds a prize, some of which start off as low as a single banana, but progress through the ranks up to a bunch of bananas (when you get to fifth place), the gold letter N of K-O-N-G (at third place), a Banana Coin (at second place) and the DK Coin (at first place).

While none of the items are mandatory to complete the track, the accomplishment is necessary if you're seeking completionist status.
7. If a Cat-O-Nine-Tails catches the Kongs in Mudhole Marsh, what will it do?

Answer: Fling them into the air

Set in a dreary swamp just outside the gates of Krazy Kremland, Mudhole Marsh seems like it would fit in better with the wetlands of Krem Quay. This otherwise flat area of the game is the first home to the Cat-O-Nine-Tails, an enemy with a helpful perk; if the creature catches you in its nine tails it will pull you close, spin, and launch you into the air (possibly to your death). With careful control, however, you can maneuver Diddy and Dixie to high-up items via this method.
8. In Rambi Rumble, you transform into Rambi to escape which of these?

Answer: A giant Zinger

Rambi Rumble is one of the final parts of the game to take place in a Zinger hive. While the entire first half of the level is played out as Diddy and Dixie, making their way through the typical honey-lined maze of tunnels, the last half is played entirely as Rambi the Rhino.

The area starts out with a moderate number of Zingers, some yellow (which can be jumped on) and some red (which can't be destroyed), but halfway through a large Zinger will chase Rambi down through the level, forcing you to continuously trudge through the level, jumping over large gaps, until you reach the end of the area and revert back into Kong form.
9. King Zing Sting is the only boss battle played in animal form. What animal companion do you play as?

Answer: Squawks

As soon as you enter the final hive waiting outside Krazy Kremland you'll go head to head with the erm...King Bee-- King Zing. To do this, however, you have to turn into Squawks and hit the boss's stinger with crackers. Every two hits (while King Zing is in full size) will stop him from taking his weaving track around the hive and shoot stingers outward.

After six crackers he'll transform into a smaller bee, surrounding himself with four others and flying after the bird. Three hits on the small, central bee and the battle is over.
10. Klubba's Kiosk in Krazy Kremland leads the Kongs to what Lost World level?

Answer: Klobber Karnage

Klobber Karnage is a lot like the Lost World level accessed from Crocodile Cauldron in the sense that it's set in a lush jungle environment, but the similarities stop there. Instead of facing off against gigantic bouncy tires, the Kongs now have to go head-to-head against Klobbers, barrel-covered Kremlings with the ability to steal from them. Yellow ones can steal bananas while red ones can steal balloons.

As always, fifteen Kremcoins is the fare to get into this difficult area.
