Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these types of locations best describes Krem Quay?

Answer: Swampland

After riding the Gangplank Galleon in the first stage of the game and proceeding into a volcanic mess in Crocodile Cauldron (still traveling on the ship for part of it), you arrive in Krem Quay, a marshland filled with swampy levels and the final resting place of K. Rool's former glory.

Here, the ship is a shell of what it once was; the hull is waterlogged while the mast and bow rise from the swamp and into a bramble patch. Like the lava in the previous stage, the marsh is deep and will kill any Kong jumping in.
2. Barrel Bayou, the first stage of Krem Quay, introduces which new barrel?

Answer: Timed Barrel

Timed Barrels are unique in that the Kongs only have a certain amount of time in them before they're fired into whichever direction they're pointed. As such, you have complete control of trajectory-- you spin the barrel whichever way you feel necessary and fire when ready (or else wait for the inevitable shot).

The level also features directional barrels, barrels with arrows pointing in their sole direction, which cause a bit of havoc when facing different directions.
3. Glimmer's Galleon takes place entirely underwater.

Answer: False

While this is a water level beginning with the Kongs navigating their way through the sunken remains of the Gangplank Galleon (in the dark!), there's no way to hit a finish platform underwater (as you must jump on it to register the completion. As such, the Kongs will find a barrel leading them topside to a platform overlooking a beautiful sunset.

The rest of the level is played with Glimmer-- an anglerfish whose light allows the Kongs to navigate the otherwise claustrophobic stage. Although enemies can always be seen, the light is used to outline the course.
4. Krockhead Klamber contains which animal companion (if you're lucky to find him in a Bonus Barrel)?

Answer: Squitter

The third stage of the game, Krockhead Klamber, takes the Kongs back into the swamp to leap amongst the bullrushes. This lengthy level takes a jaunt over the marsh first through jumps along the reeds and then, in the second half, via krockhead barrels-- barrels which need to be hit to raise krockheads from the waters below, ensuring that the Kongs have a path to take (without falling in).

These heads (as previously seen in Hot Head Hop), of course, have a time limit before they recede once again.

It's the type of level that allows for a good flow if you're skilled enough to maintain one. Squitter can be found in a high-up Bonus Barrel, but his 'no-spider sign' is found immediately after.
5. In Rattle Battle, you gain control of Rattly, but in what way?

Answer: You become Rattly

In the first-ever instance where the Kongs transmogrify in the series, Diddy and Dixie actually become their Animal Companion in this level, the fourth in Krem Quay. On this rare occasion, it's Rattly the Snake, last seen in Gangplank Galleon. During these instances, the controls stay the same, almost as though you were riding the animal in a normal level-- the difference is that you can not jump off at any time; you must be Rattly through the duration of the level.

In the case of this one, the whole level is Rattly-centric, meaning you have some big jumps to make.
6. Where can you find Swanky in Krem Quay?

Answer: On the mast of the ship

Swanky is the latest of the Kongs to appear in Krem Quay; he hides part-way up the broken mast of the Gangplank Galleon on the far right of the map. Once more he brings his eclectic trivia stylings to the table; you can win up to six lives in the form of balloons (at a cost of Banana Coins, as usual).

While Swanky is further along the way through Krem Quay, you can unlock access to Wrinkly, Cranky, and Funky all at once by completing Glimmer's Galleon, the area's second level. After this quick swim, all three can be found on an alternate path to Krockhead Klamber.
7. Is it possible to drown in the slime found in the area's fifth level, Slime Climb?

Answer: No

In fact, the slime of Slime Climb is the least of your worries; instead you should worry about the piranha found swimming below. In this level, akin to Mainbrace Mayhem in Gangplank Galleon, the Kongs need to travel upward along the mast of the ship, all the while avoiding obstacles (like enemies) en route. All the while, a slowly-ascending slime will rise with the Kongs and if they fall in they're likely at the mercy of a hungry fish.

Otherwise, the slime acts like regular water, allowing the Kongs to swim freely. Finding an invincibility barrel wouldn't be too bad...
8. The main method of transport in Bramble Blast is which of these?

Answer: Barrels

Bramble Blast is, perhaps, one of the most memorable levels in the game, simply because its unique setting-- a bramble patch-- is combined with the soundtrack of "Stickerbrush Symphony" and a whole lot of barrels. To get to the end of the stage, you need to fire the Kongs from barrel to barrel or barrel to platform without shooting them into the spiky walls, floors, and ceilings of briar. Later in the level, there's also an opportunity to take a ride in Squawks' talons to collect the DK coin and a Bonus Barrel, but it's recommended that you master the barrels before you consider taking on a precarious flight through a rough patch.
9. How many times do you need to hit Kudgel with cannonballs during the boss battle of Krem Quay, Kudgel's Kontest?

Answer: None

While it takes six hits to defeat Kudgel, the oversized Kremling (with a spiky club) waiting at the end of Krem Quay's swampland, none of those hits are performed with cannonballs (like the fight with Kleaver in Crocodile Cauldron). Instead, the arena supplies the Kongs with TNT Barrels. During this battle, the Kongs need to watch out for Kudgel's lean, mean jumping ability. Every jump landed will create a shockwave, stunning Diddy and Dixie temporarily.

He'll also swing his club, as would be expected.
10. In Krem Quay, Klubba guards the entrance to what Lost World level?

Answer: Black Ice Battle

Black Ice Battle is interesting in that it's an ice cave-themed level, but none of those will appear otherwise in the game until the Kongs reach K. Rool's Keep (in the game's sixth and penultimate area). In this stage, you need to make your way to the bottom of the level dodging sneaky enemies and making sure you have stable footing on the slippery ground.

The level is also home to some fearsome one-up balloon-stealing Kremlings. As with all other Klubba locations, access to the Lost World from Krem Quay costs fifteen Kremcoins, all of which can be collected by defeating bosses or completing Bonus Barrels.
