Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Until you complete the first level in the Factory stage, you can't see the rest of the map. What is the name of level 7-1?

Answer: Foggy Fumes

Foggy Fumes (7-1) is the second level of the game completed entirely in silhouette-- DK and Diddy are actually blocked out by fog throughout the level and are thus only recognizable by their shadows and their accessories (a red tie for DK and Diddy's hat).

When the Kongs make it to the end of the level they'll end up triggering some fans which will, subsequently, blow all the smog in the Factory area away, leaving you able to see the rest of the levels before moving along.
2. Slammin' Steel (7-2) contains Buckbots, mechanized versions of what animals?

Answer: Chickens

If Foggy Fumes (7-1) was an introduction to the Factory area, Slammin' Steel (7-2) is the first level in the area to give a true taste of what's to come. Donkey Kong and Diddy end up diving headlong into a level filled with grimy machinery and robotics in this level devoted to crushing the Kongs by any means. Aside from different electrically-charged obstacles found throughout, the level also has pillars which come smashing down...or up...or to the right and left. All you need to know is that getting squashed is bad news. You know...common sense things.
3. Handy Hazards (7-3) requires a key from Cranky's Shop to access.

Answer: True

Sure enough, Handy Hazards, appearing quite early on the itinerary through the Factory region, can only be completed if you purchase the key nearby from Cranky's Shop, otherwise you're stuck heading straight to level 7-4 which may or may not be your cup of tea. Handy Hazards is aptly named; the level features several mechanical hands which act as platforms throughout.

The aim is to get used to the timing as the hands flip back and forth, but keep in mind that some may simply drop you if you dawdle.
4. With what/who do you perform the titular getaway in Gear Getaway (7-4)?

Answer: Rocket barrel

The fourth rocket barrel level of the game, Gear Getaway is only tricky if you haven't yet mastered the tricky maneuverability of the vehicle. In this one, the Kongs need to duck and rise above spinning, metal gears, all of which will spell instant doom if they're hit. On top of this, a few enemies will show up to cause a bit of havoc.

The level also features a number of crushing obstacles, much like Slammin' Steel (7-2), so the issues are ceaseless.
5. Cog Jog (7-5) is the first of how many levels to contain a red switch?

Answer: Three

Cog Jog is a tricky jaunt in the Factory area, mainly because the basis of the level involves navigating tilting platforms as they spin and move through the level on gears in behind the foreground. The other objective of the level is one that also involves the proceeding two. To reach the boss, Donkey Kong and Diddy have to find a red switch indicated via a sign at the start of the level. Once they hit the switch here, they'll have started the activation process for the vehicle appearing in another level.
6. In Switcheroo (7-6), buttons and platforms are red and what other colour?

Answer: Blue

Switcheroo is a level that requires a great deal of input from the Kongs, mainly because access to the different parts of the level is generated when red/blue switches are hit, enabling new platforms of that colour to emerge and form a path or clear a route. Fortunately, this level also contains an alternate red switch, a necessary thing to come across, especially if you have plans of reaching the boss battle at the end of the Factory area.
7. What types of instruments are the only ones to appear in Music Madness (7-7)?

Answer: Percussion

You can imagine-- a level comprised completely of mechanized percussion instruments-- can't be safe, right? Definitely not safe. The entire level involves drums, cymbals, and other forms of percussion, all playing to a beat and forcing the Kongs to follow along.

It's a real test of patience, especially for speedier players, since the instruments will never stop playing to the same tempo; every failure is your own fault. The level contains the third and final red switch as well, so that's something.
8. Lift-Off Launch (7-R) allows the Kongs to ride a blimp.

Answer: False

Lift-Off Launch is a special level falling outside the typical numbering scheme of the game-- it's 7-R. This level, only accessible if you find all three red switches around the Factory rocket platform, sends the Kongs into a large rocket, but ultimately sends them skyward in a vertical rocket barrel level.

Instead of avoiding gears and machinery, much of the upward battle involves dodging Tiki-led blimps and scaffolding on the way to the boss battle up on high.
9. Treacherous Track (7-K) is the temple level of the Factory. It's also the only temple level to use a mine cart.

Answer: False

Treacherous Track, while seeming to imply a course of some sort, actually refers to the track of a floating platform which scrolls its way through the level. Throughout, you need to hit switches and alter the environment to make a path from start to finish, all while avoiding the same tightly-packed enemies and dangerous spikes typical of a Kong Temple level.

At the end, you end up receiving the seventh of eight Rare Orbs; this time it's a silver one.
10. Feather Fiend (7-B), the boss area of the Factory, is actually home to which of the following?

Answer: A mech fighter

Feather Fiend (7-B) while implying a battle against a bird (and isn't wrong in doing so), pits the Kongs against a suitably factory-made mech piloted by the chicken Colonel Pluck. During the battle, the Kongs have to break apart the mech piece by piece until they're able to break through to the hypnotized creature inside.

This means pulling and bashing as much as possible until the battle ends and they can wallop the Tiki out of the Factory region for good.
