Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first world of the game is the Jungle. If you purchase the key from Cranky, you'll unlock which stylized stage?

Answer: Sunset Shore

Level 1-4, Sunset Shore, is a beautifully-designed level in which the entire level is black in front of a glowing sunset. While all enemies and surroundings are in black, DK and Diddy are similarly darkened by the horizon. Diddy's hat and DK's tie both glow red, however, distinguishing their characters onscreen. To purchase a key from any of Cranky's Shops, you only need to pay twenty coins.

A key can be bought in every world. Jungle contains six levels and a final boss (named Mugly). This starting area gets you used to the game mechanics and introduces you to the famous cart levels starting in level 1-6, Crazy Cart, which you must complete before the boss battle.
2. In the Beach area, DK and Diddy will need to avoid which of these creatures in level 2-5, Stormy Shore?

Answer: Octopus

Moving on to World 2, DK and Diddy come across a beach world in which pirate crabs, jumping sharks, and sandy beaches dot the landscape. Level 2-5, Stormy Shore, contains a rather angry giant octopus whose tentacles will destroy some of the level and create havoc throughout.

As DK and Diddy make their way through this stage, they'll need to avoid a number of different road blocks made by this beast. In level 2-6, Blowhole Bound, they'll need to ride atop a friendly whale whom they free from a ship's anchor, to reach the end of the stage. The boss of this area in Pinchin' Pirates is a trio of crabs who seem to have their own ship.

There are seven regular levels in this world.
3. The third world of the game is the Ruins. In Level 3-6, Temple Topple, you can ride atop which animal buddy?

Answer: Rambi

In level 3-6, Temple Topple, you'll make your way toward the end of the Ruins stages by hopping on top of Rambi the Rhinoceros, and charging through the breakable obstacles as fast and as precisely as you can. Because this section of the ruins is quite fragile, you'll be moving constantly for the most part or else you'll fall through the crumbling floors. Rambi also appears in earlier levels if you can find him. Along with Squawks, he is the only bdudy from the original series of games to help DK and Diddy through their quest. At the end of World 3, you'll find the Ruined Roost, home to a bird creature whose bombs will spell your doom if you don't act smartly in battle.
4. The fourth world, the Caves, contains a boss battle which takes place on which of these?

Answer: Mine carts

The Caves, while one of the shorter worlds of the game, is frustrating for those without spontaneous reflexes and precise navigation skills. Although levels are completely linear, half of the levels take place on mine cart tracks at high speeds and half of the levels take place on rocket barrels whizzing through narrow caves.

It's no surprise that the boss battle is a level known as The Mole Train. This boss battle involves a series of mine carts hurtling through the caves while moles throw pickaxes and hide in carts of bananas.

It's a high-speed chase of madness...unless you have good reflexes!
5. Which of these is not a level in World 5, the Forest?

Answer: Itty Bitty Biters

Itty Bitty Biters is actually one of the levels in the Ruins stage of the game; it's level 3-5. Vine Valley is a vine-grabbing level, 5-1, at the beginning of the Forest while Longshot Launch is a barrel-themed stage, 5-5, and Tippin' Totems is a precarious stage through the trees atop moving totem poles (and it's 5-4).

The Forest stages will bring DK and Diddy through some rough jungles of thick, leafy trees and it will bring them face-to-face with some really angry spiders. The final boss of this area is in an area known as Mangoruby Run, and the Forest contains eight regular levels.
6. Which of these locations was World 6 of the game?

Answer: Cliffs

World 6 would take DK and Diddy to the cliffs along the side of Kong Island. This precarious area, while rocky and dangerous, also happens to contain a number of prehistoric beasts who take more than one knock on the head to defeat. Along with these, DK and Diddy's trip through these stages may be marred by crumbling rock bridges; giant, crushing, stone boulders; and sticky, gooey tar streams.

When you reach Level 6-6, Crumble Canyon, the bridge to the boss will fall to pieces and you'll need to beat an additional two levels before facing off against the next boss at Thugly's Highrise.
7. World 7 was the Factory stage of the game. What was the first stage found here?

Answer: Foggy Fumes

When DK and Diddy make their way to the Factory stage, the whole area is filled with smoke fumes. In order to remedy these emissions, the duo needs to make their way through the first stage, Foggy Fumes, which is another unique silhouette stage. As soon as this is beaten, all of the stages will appear (and still be accessed in chronological order).

Inevitably, they'll reach the final boss of the zone, Feather Fiend, and advance onward to the last region of the game.
8. The eighth world of the game is at which of these locations?

Answer: The top of the island

The eighth and final major world of the game is the Volcano found at the top of the island. Here, DK and Diddy need to make their way over flaming lava jets and across columns of crumbling stone to reach the large chamber at the far end of the crater.

This will house the last few stages in the rocket barrel (Hot Rocket) and the mine cart (Roasting Rails) and bring our primate protagonists one step closer to the final battle at Tiki Tong Terror.
9. During the final boss battle at Tiki Tong Terror, which of these does not need to be defeated?

Answer: Tiki Ghost

At Tiki Tong Terror, DK and Diddy begin the trek with an extensive rocket barrel ride to the top of the volcano, the lair of the game's final boss. Tiki Tong will reside on a flat arena and to win, the Kongs need to jump on both hands twice (between sweeping and smacking attacks, of course) and the tiki's head three times.

When this is done, DK and Diddy will be able to retrieve their banana horde having saved Kong Island from the Tikis' hypnotic powers once and for all.
10. What does DK need to collect to access the Golden Temple?

Answer: Orbs

After DK and Diddy finish Tiki Tong Terror, they'll be granted access to the front stops of the mysterious Golden Temple. The only way to enter this final domain is to collect eight coloured orbs from around the world, and each of these can be found in specific temples, one of which is in every stage of the game. To reach these orb temples, DK and Diddy must complete all levels in a world and collect the K, O, N, and G letters throughout. If you happen to beat the level in the sky accessed from the Golden Temple, you'll unlock Mirror Mode.
