Shinnok had two sons, Raiden and Shao Kahn. As a test, he made them battle each other to see who the stronger one was. Raiden came out on top. Fujin is the God of Wind.

Shang Tsung held the soul of Hanzo Hasashi. Shang Tsung sent a poisonous scorpion into which he transferred the soul of Hanzo to kill Takeda (founder of the Shirai Ryo ninja clan). Hanzo then took over Takeda's body and became a human once again. Hanzo was then known as Scorpion.

When Sub-Zero searched for the Map of Elements that showed the way to Shinnok's Sacred Amulet, he crossed paths with Scorpion. This led to a battle in which Scorpion was killed. (The Sacred Amulet was used by Shinnok to enter the realm of Earth thousands of years ago.) Scorpion was given a chance to return to life in order to avenge his death and was reincarnated in the form of a specter.

Sub-Zero entered the tournament on the island of Shang Tsung. Scorpion followed him there and killed him to take revenge on his death. Scorpion also believed that Sub-Zero was responsible for the death of his family.

In the Netherrealm he worshipped the evil fallen Elder God, Shinnok. Shinnok used him to spy on the events taking place in the battle between the realms of Earth and Outworld.

Sheeva belonged to a race called the Shokan. Motaro belonged to a race called the Centaurs. When Shoa Kahn started to favour the Centaurs and aided them in fighting the Shokan, Sheeva turned on Shoa Khan (her master). She then tried to assassinate Shao Kahn with the help of Kano, but Kano betrayed her and informed Shao Kahn of her assassination plot. Shao Kahn then killed Sheeva.

Cyrax is one of the cybernetic ninjas built by the Lin Kuei. He was programmed to find and kill Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero captured Cyrax and reprogrammed him to defeat Shao Kahn. When the Emperor's attack on Earth was foiled, Cyrax had no further instructions and shut down in a barren desert.

He was recovered by Special Forces agents Sonya and Jax who restored his soul through a dangerous technical procedure. In return for their help, he joined the Special Forces Outerworld Investigation Agency.

Mavado is a member of the Red Dragon Clan. Both these clans are criminal organizations. They are however rival organizations and enemies.

Tanya invited a group of refugees fleeing their own worlds into the safety of Edenia. She used this as a trick to aid Shinnok in escaping from the Netherrealm. A portal was opened that connected to the Netherrealm itself. This allowed Shinnok to escape and invade Edenia. Tanya fought by his side.

Answer: Reptile

Reptile tracked Cyrax and Nitara to the Lava Shrine when they where searching for an orb. When Reptile arrived he was too late, since they already found the orb and left. The dragon egg in the Lava Shrine started to hatch. A beam of energy came out of the egg and lanced into Reptile. The body of Reptile was then transformed and inhabited by the Dragon King.

Answer: Hsu Hao was killed by Jonny Cage

When Shao Kahn invaded Earth Realm, he was killed in battle by an Outworld extermination squad. The merger of Earthrealm and Outworld prevented his soul from going to the afterlife and took possession of his body. During the battle against the Outworld invasion he fought against these forces.

However after the Earthrealm warriors won and Earth reverted back to normal his soul went to the Heavens. During the war where Shinnok fought against the Elder Gods, he requested that Raiden restore him back to life to fight alongside his friends once again. Raiden granted him this request. Hsu Hao was in fact killed by Jax.
