Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Vermilion City, a man gives you a rare candy in the "Pokémon Gold Version". What does he give you in the "Pokémon Red Version"?

Answer: Bike Voucher

This man is an enthusiastic Pokémon collector. After you listen to him babbling about his Rapidash, he will give you a Rare Candy in the "Pokémon Gold Version", and a Bike Voucher in the "Pokémon Red Version". The Bike Voucher will help you get the Bicycle, which helps you move around twice as fast.
2. How do you get the bike in the "Pokémon Gold Version"?

Answer: You can get it when the owner of the shop asks you to advertise

The Bicycle is really handy, especially in "Gold" and "Silver", since there are long distances where you will be bored of walking without it. In the red version, you need a Bike voucher to get it, since it is too expensive, at 1,000,000 dollars.
The maximum amount of money you can hold is 999,999 dollars.
3. What is the difference between the item pack in the "Red" and the "Gold"?

Answer: In the "Red", all the items are stored in one pack. In the "Gold", however, it is divided into four parts

The 4-part pack in the "Gold" is highly efficient. One part is for items like potions, antidotes, and berries. Another part is for priceless items like Rods and the Squirtbottle. The third part is for balls to catch Pokémon. The last part is for TMs and HMs.
In the "Red" version, there is only one pack, and maximum of twenty items can be put in it.
4. TM38 is Fireblast on both versions.

Answer: True

Fire Blast is one of the most powerful fire attacks in the game. It is the same in both games, and with good reason. An attack like that would be irreplaceable. There is a slight difference, however. In the "Red", the Cinnabar Island gym leader, Blaine, gives it to you. In the "Gold", you have to pay 5,500 coins in the Game Corner to get it.
5. There are two Game Corners in both the "Gold" and "Red" versions.

Answer: False

There are two in the "Gold" version. There is one in Celadon, and one in Goldenrod. In the "Red" version, there is only one, and it's in Celadon city.
6. Rain Dance is found in both games.

Answer: False

Rain Dance is only located in the "Gold" version. It strengthens water-type attacks for five turns. It is not found in the "Red" version.
7. In the "Red" version, the graveyard in Lavender Town is open and contains trainers. Channelers over there battle you. What does it turn into in the "Gold" version?

Answer: Radio Tower

How can someplace that makes you sad turn into someplace happy?
In the "Red" version, you will fight all the ghosts in the scary tower. When you reach the end of it, you will fight a Marowak, which is Level 30, and is pretty strong. It is also uncatchable.
In the "Gold", however, the radio tower is only one floor, and you can get a special card from there that updates your radio.
8. Waterfall is found in both versions.

Answer: True

Waterfall is a move that only Seaking can learn in the "Red" version. It is a powerful water attack. In the "Gold" version, however, it is an HM, meaning that it can be taught an unlimited number of times.
9. There are eight gyms in the "Red" version. How many are there in the "Gold" version?

Answer: Sixteen

There are two worlds in the "Gold" version. You battle the eight gyms that you battled in the "Red" version, and another eight that are found only in the "Gold" version.
10. Mewtwo can be caught in the "Red" version near Cerulean city, in the cave of strong Pokémon. Where can it be caught in the "Gold" version?

Answer: It can't be caught

Mewtwo is one of the most powerful Pokémon in the both versions. However, in the "Gold" version, you can not catch him anywhere. You can to trade him with the "red", "blue", or "yellow" versions.
