These literal speech bubbles files directly at Pikachu whenever the player speaks to it. The player must be clear in what they are trying to say to Pikachu in order for the Electric Mouse Pokemon to understand them.

The PokeHelper is not to be confused with the Pokedex as the PokeHelper allows the player to keep up with their progress with Pikachu such as time spent playing with it. It can also be used to leave areas quicker if they cannot wait for sundown.

The player's mother actually gives them a toolbox which can be used to store any items collected throughout levels. It has two compartments where the lower one stores the PokeHelper and other key items and the upper one is used to store items that can be collected and later sold.

Answer: To help feed some Caterpie

Pikachu steals the player's toolbox and runs off into Viridian Forest with it. However, even though it seems like Pikachu was misbehaving being an untrained wild Pokemon, it was actually using it to help feed some hungry Caterpie. It returns the toolbox feeling bad for what it did. However, to show there is no hard feelings, the player invites Pikachu to live at their house.

Answer: Pikachu's Daring Days

Pikachu's Discovery Days, Pikachu's Play Days, and Pikachu's Daring Days are the three activities that can be played throughout the game. However, when the player first starts out, they can only play on Pikachu's Discovery Days which limits their actions to following Pikachu closely. Pikachu's Play Days gives the player much more freedom as they can travel areas without Pikachu needing to be close. Pikachu's Daring Days offers the same freedom as Pikachu Play Days, but the areas offer more tricker means to move around at certain points.

Answer: "Caring for Caterpie"

Caring for Caterpie is an activity where the player and Pikachu help take care of some Caterpie for a Butterfree. Pikachu will be watching over the Caterpie and the player can observe from a distance. However, there is a chance the Caterpie can get hungry and the player can tell Pikachu about it and will go off to get a rosebud to feed the Caterpie. Eventually, the feeding the Caterpie enough times will allow them to evolve into Metapod who will then, over time, evolve into Butterfree.

Answer: Magnemite

A Magnemite flies throughout Ochre Woods awaiting any ingredients needing to be delivered to Bulbasaur. The type of meal that needs to be made is usually different upon each visit. Whenever the player and Pikachu find the correct ingredient, they can signal to Magnemite to take it to Bulbasaur.

The quality of the meal depends if all the correct ingredients are gathered in time as well as adding in a fourth ingredient to compliment the meal.

Answer: Togepi

A Pokemon egg of a Togepi can be found in this cave. Abra shows up to take care of the egg until it hatches into Togepi. This is a nod to the "Pokemon" anime where one of the main characters, Misty, acquires a Pokemon egg of a Togepi that she would carry around with her for a long time.

There are only three locations that the player and Pikachu can fish at: Ochre Woods, Cobalt Coast, and Olivine Lake. This activity is titled "Going Fishing!" and can only be played during Pikachu's Discovery Days. The player must help Pikachu reel in Pokemon to help it score big points.

Answer: Haunter

A Haunter roams around throughout Olivine Lake and, if it shows up, will scare away all of the Poliwag that are present. The player must have Pikachu use Thunderbolt on the Haunter to prevent it form scaring the Poliwag.

Answer: Three times

The player must work together with Pikachu to help it break open the pińata up to three times. If they are successful in doing this the first time, Venusaur will reward them with a gift and a chance to ride on a Lapras to Colbat Island.

Answer: Sing

During the "Treasure Hunt" activity, the player and Pikachu can open the treasure chest in many different ways. Some obvious ones including using one of Pikachu's attacks such as Thunderbolt and Thunder. However, there are also rather silly commands to open them such as tickling or even dancing in front of them. However, singing isn't one of these options.

Answer: Oddish

Oddish can be found in the ground throughout Springleaf Field during only Pikachu's Play Days. Once the player purchases the watering jug, Pikachu will be able to water the Oddish and help them evolve into Gloom (and later Vileplume). Sometimes, the Oddish may end up being a strange radish instead. At times, an upset Pikachu will fry the strange radish with a Thundershock.

Answer: Springleaf Field and Ochre Woods

Abra's Shop can only be found in Springleaf Field during Pikachu's Play Days and Ochre Woods during Pikachu's Daring Days. This is where the player and Pikachu can spend their hard-earned money on various items. Take note that the player will only be able to enter Abra's Shop as long Pikachu is close-by.

In this game, the television only serves to have the player communicate with Professor Oak and play the Pokemon Quiz. The Pokemon Quiz can be played anytime by simply telling Pikachu they want to play it. Watching television will be a major plot point of this game's successor, "Pokemon Channel".

There are no legendary Pokemon that appear in this game (not counting if Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mew, and Mewtwo appear on the Pokemon Quiz). In fact, this game only features around thirty different Pokemon.

Answer: The megaphone

Pikachu escapes with the player's PokeHelper into a further area of Viridian Forest and Professor Oak gives the player the megaphone to help speak to Pikachu from a distance to get it to come back. The megaphone is quite handy as the bubble the player speaks through acts like a solid projectile that can knock over items (such as the rosebuds during the Caterpie events).

Answer: Flying Acorn

The Flying Acorn is a unique item that can purchased from Abra's Shop in Ochre Woods that allows the player to knock objects from high places. Sunflowers can be found throughout Springleaf Fields. Sapphires can be won from completing certain tasks (such as feeding all of the hungry Caterpie in Viridian Forest). Cupcakes are automatically given to the player by their mother which can be fed to Pikachu whenever it's low on energy.

A Diglett can be found on Springleaf Field during Pikachu's Daring Days (Part 3). The Diglett will occasionally pop up from the ground and Pikachu will chase it throughout the area until it goes away.

Answer: Release Pikachu back to the wild

In a rather surprising moment, Professor Oak tells the player that they must release Pikachu back into the wild due to it still being a wild, untamed Pokemon. The player takes Pikachu back to Viridian Forest where they tell it to "go home." Even though it seems like Pikachu is gone forever after the credits roll, Pikachu does come back as it considers "home" to be the player's home.
