Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which game is the 'Great Bay' stage originally from?

Answer: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Anyone who's played "Majora's Mask" will recognize Tingle floating from his red balloon in the top right hand corner of the screen. In this stage, you can also see the moon that threatens to crash into Termina and the turtle which will take you to the Great Bay Temple after you learn to play the 'New Wave Bossa Nova'.

This whole stage is situated on the platforms at the Great Bay Laboratory in the western end of Termina. You can even see the houses on the shore of Great Bay behind you.
2. Which Pokémon can not be found in the 'Poke Floats' stage?

Answer: Koffing

The Pokémon included in this level are Squirtle, Onix, Psyduck, Chikorita, Weezing, Slowpoke, Porygon, Wooper, Sudowoodo, Snorlax, Venusaur, Seel, Wobbuffet, Unown, Goldeen, Lickitung, Chansey, Geodude (not including ones you can unleash from Pokéballs).

This whole level is pretty tricky since it's just a series of moving floats suspended over the oblivion. Much like in 'Rainbow Cruise', you're not very likely to recover if you fall off the main stage. The 'Poke Floats' stage is unlocked after you play through 200 Vs. Battles.
3. Which stage does not constantly move and reform?

Answer: Mushroom Kingdom

The scrolling stages are always moving, so not only must you find a way to defeat your enemies, but you also have to be quick on your feet to avoid the perilous oblivion. 'Rainbow Cruise' takes people on a flying boat ride, and when this boat crashes, it's up to everyone to fight and dodge obstacles from the 'Rainbow Ride' level of "Super Mario 64". 'Mute City' features platforms which constantly move along the track and through the air.

These platforms shift, change, and move along mighty quickly. 'Big Blue' is situated on top of the F-Zero Racers, so not only does the level move by, but the cars do as well.
4. How many VS. matches must you play to unlock the 'Fourside' level?

Answer: 150

'Fourside' is a level based on an area of the SNES game "Earthbound". Every once in a while, you'll be able to see a UFO drop down over one corner of the screen, and when you walk on it, it's quite slippery. This UFO will disappear after a while, and you'll be left to fight on the different buildings. Another "Earthbound" stage is 'Onett'.
5. In order to unlock the 'Mushroom Kingdom II' stage, you need to collect a certain trophy. Whose trophy must you collect?

Answer: Birdo

There isn't really a way to ensure that you will get the Birdo trophy unless you always play the lottery and 1-P mode. If you happen to randomly collect this trophy, the level will be yours. Not only can Birdo be found in this level, but you can also see Pidgit from the same game, "Super Mario Bros. 2" (NES). The level also contains the trademark music from that game.
6. On which stage do you fight Master Hand?

Answer: Final Destination

The 'Final Destination' stage is unlocked by completing all of the 1-P Event Challenges. The level is basically a single, flat platform, so it's quite good for two-player battles or four-player brawls. Throughout the game, you can fight Giga Bowser, Master Hand, and Crazy Hand in this level. If you continue playing the level, you can watch the background change to many different things as the platform goes through different realms.

The alternate music for this level is the "Fire Emblem" theme.
7. The 'Flat Zone' stage is played on the screen of a Game & Watch system. When you press the pause button, the screen zooms out. What button is not on the Game & Watch when you do this?

Answer: On

The 'Flat Zone' level is unlocked when you beat Classic 1-P Mode of the game with Mr. Game and Watch. Sure, the level's quite small, but it's pretty neat too. As time passes, different things reminiscent of the old Game & Watch games begin to appear, and not only do you have trouble avoiding the edges of the stage and your enemies, but also the flat obstacles.
8. Which stage needs to be unlocked in this game?

Answer: Brinstar Depths

To unlock the 'Brinstar Depths' stage, you must play fifty VS. matches. Unlike the other stages, Brinstar Depths is just one thick rock, and every once in a while, it will rotate. The stage has the ability to turn 360 degrees in a circle, and below the level is the common oblivion.

The other three stages are default and don't need to be unlocked at all. There are eleven unlockable stages in this game.
9. Which of these stages is not a Past Stage arena in "Super Smash Bros. Melee"?

Answer: Hyrule Temple

The three Past Stages of this game need to be unlocked in different ways. To get 'Dream Land' (from the 'Kirby' series) you need to Break all of the targets for every character in twenty-five minutes or less. For 'Yoshi's Island', you must hit the sandbag more than 1,350 ft in Home Run Contest. For 'Kongo Jungle', you'll need to clear the fifteen-minute melee against the wire frames. All of these stages were playable in the original "Super Smash Bros." for the N64.
10. In which stage do you fight the Wire Frames?

Answer: Battlefield

This stage is used for some event matches, and the different 1-P Melees (eg. 15-minute, 100-man, Cruel, etc). To unlock it, you simply need to complete All-Star 1-P mode once, but to open All-Star mode, you need to get all of the characters in the game.

This stage is much like the 'Fountain of Dreams' stage since it has one main platform and three platforms in a triangle above it, only in the 'Battlefield stage, the bottom platforms don't rise and fall.
