This is a quiz on Chocobos from "Final Fantasy VII" for the PSX. If you've bred a Chocobo in this game, the quiz should be fairly easy for you. This is one of my favorite side quests and I thought it would be fun to make a quiz for it. Have fun!

1. What two Chocobos must you mate to get a Gold Chocobo?

Answer: Mountain/River and Wonderful

You have to mate a black Chocobo (Mountain/River) with a wonderful Chocobo. Mating a Mountain with a River (Green with Blue) will give you this black Chocobo. The black Chocobo can cross both Mountains and Rivers.

2. Where can you find the Wonderful Chocobos?

Answer: Icicle Area

You can find them just south of the Chocobo Sage's dwelling. There are Chocobo tracks in the snow. But be careful because the Chocobos here are either wonderful or poor.

3. What nut do you need to breed the Mountain/River Chocobo?

Answer: Carob Nut

You can steal carob nuts from a monster in the Icicle Area, or you can trade GP for it at Gold Saucer. You will need at least three carob nuts in this side quest.

4. What color is the Moutain/River Chocobo?

Answer: Black

Mountain crossing Chocobos are green, river crossing Chocobos are blue. Any wild Chocobo that you catch is yellow. There are many different colored ones at the Gold Saucer races, though.

5. What rank can you race your Chocobo up to at Gold Saucer?

Answer: S

You have to start at C rank and work your way up, it goes C,B,A, then S. Once you get to S, you can compete for much better prizes.

6. What is the name of the black Chocobo that appears from time to time in the races?

Answer: Teioh

Joe is the jockey that rides Teioh. Sometimes they will show up in the race that bumps you up to S class, and this bird has amazing stamina.

7. How many caves are there that you need a special ability Chocobo to reach?

Answer: 4

You cannot reach these caves by any other means than a Chocobo. These four caves house the Mimic, HP MP swap, Quadra Magic and Knights of the Round materials.

8. What's the name of the old man who knows everything about Chocobos, even if he is a bit forgetful?

Answer: Chocobo Sage

This guy can't remember his own name at first, but it all comes back to him over time. If you visit the Chocobo Ranch after you see the Sage, Chole will write down everything he tells you.

9. What's the name of the island you can take the Gold Chocobo to to receive the Knights of the Round materia?

Answer: Round Island

This island is in the upper right hand corner of the world map. You can fly to it with the Highwind, but you can't disembark due to the dense forest.

10. What are the two most expensive greens?

Answer: Reagan & Sylkis

These greens cost a whopping 5,000 gil each. You can only buy them from the Chocobo Sage in the Icicle Area. These greens are great for raising your Chocobo's stats, and you need a lot of them. This is why Chocobo breeding is so darn expensive!

11. What two kinds of Chocobos must you mate to get a River or Mountain Chocobo?

Answer: Good & Great

You can find Great Chocobos near Mideel, and Good ones near Gold Saucer. Mating these two will get you either a Mountain or River Chocobo. I keep the same ones and mate them twice to get one of each kind, it's easier that way.

12. Where do you find a Great Chocobo?

Answer: Mideel Area

Great Chocobos can only be found near Mideel. The tracks are located to the left of the forest. You need a Great Chocobo to breed a Mountain or River bird.

13. Where can you get Zeio nuts?

Answer: Goblin Island

Sometimes these nuts are hard to get, and this is the only way to get them. You can either steal them from the Goblins, or just defeat them and hope that they drop one.

14. What two color Chocobos must you mate to get a black Chocobo?

Answer: Blue & Green

You have to mate a blue and green Chocobo for this. The blue one can cross rivers and the green one can cross mountains. Mating these two together gives you a Chocobo that can do both.

15. In the A racing class in Gold Saucer, what is the background color of the ticket/prize screen?

Answer: Pink

It's pretty pink. Actually, it's a pink flower. Once you get to S class, the background is beige and the tickets are camo colored.
