Kansas State University is located in Manhattan, and while KU does have campuses in Wichita and Kansas City, they are not the main campus.

Answer: Jayhawk

While the current day Jayhawk is a mythical bird, it's name actually referred to Kansan Kansas-Missouri border ruffians during the Civil War. Did you answer Wildcats? Sorry! That's K-State while the Tigers are our counterparts in the border war. Cornhuskers belong to our neighbor to the north, Nebraska.
3. A sample of this gas was analyzed on the basement of Bailey Hall in 1905 making it the first time it was detected on earth.

Answer: Helium

The existance of Helium in the sun was first deteced in 1868 and confirmed in 1895 by William Ramsey. But it wasn't until a sample of a non-flamable gas was brought to assistant professor David McFarland from a Dextor, Kansas well that it was known to be on earth. As for Dihydrogen oxide, the gaseous version of this compound is commonly known as steam.

Answer: Hoch Auditorium

It was called Hoch Auditorium after Kansas Governor Edward W. Hoch. However, the building was struck by lightening and caught on fire in 1991. It didn't get rebuilt until 1997 when it was dedicated as Budig Hall. Some of the original building was used, such as the limestone front.
9. Speaking of basketball, who was the basketball coach in 2003-2004?

Roy Williams coached from 1988 when Larry Brown left until he went back to University of North Carolina after the 2002-2003 season.
