I can speak English and Tagalog/Filipino (language spoken in the Philippines). There is also a language casually spoken by Filipinos. It's the combining of English terms with the Filipino language or vice versa. It's called 'Taglish'. :) Reply #163. Mar 27 07, 10:42 PM |

I can speak two languages...English and New York! Having grown up on "Lawn Guyland", I was well familiar with the accent common in that part of the country. I often kid people that I can speak to New "Yawkas" in their native tongue, and also speak to everyone else in English. On a much more serious note, I studied German in Junior and Senior High, but I forgot most of it, mainly through lack of use. My grandparents all spoke Slovak. Wish I learned some of that. I learned French until I was 13 and German from ages 11 - 16. I can recognise words in French but couldn't form a sentance. I could probably stumble through a conversation in German. Now I live in NZ so am surrounded by Maori - I know words only. I also know the sign language alphabet for England and NZ Reply #171. May 24 07, 1:41 AM |

I speak Romanian and English. I've learned German in school for 7 years but I remember very little of it. A funny/strange thing is that I've never learned any French yet I can understand a lot when reading and I also think I will be able to find my way around in a French speaking country if forced. :) Reply #172.
