In case anyone immediately wants to snag #10 in the two and a half hours left today, today's topic is Ohio (Geography). http://www.funtrivia.com/ql.cfm?cat=3941 Reply #1. May 01 19, 3:32 AM |

So I was right to call out the Evil Twin on the dead Bhutanese actor. ;) Reply #3. May 01 19, 4:30 AM |

You can double, triple or sept-and-half-tuple with other challenges, but not two contracts at a time (since that would deplete the list - you'd remove 2 and add only one). You decide at claim time which one you want if your entry qualifies on more than one - typically you'll want the higher valued one, unless of course you have a second one waiting for the higher :) Having a second claim option might be handy especially if you've just been spending the better part of a month to craft a 73-point masterpiece only to have it claimed by someone else an hour before you. You can at least then grab a few consolation points. Reply #6. May 01 19, 6:34 AM |

Re Wes: I hope the challenge will go onn and on n. Plus, the Book Club can help if you want to tackle no. 7 here Reply #7. May 01 19, 8:09 AM |

It's meant as a permanent addition, running for as long as people complete and post contracts. It'll take a while before someone can get a 50-pointer :) Reply #8. May 01 19, 8:50 AM |

I've submitted a crossword in line with Contract #3, so will now await publication and see whether or not it's 'gazumped!' ;) Reply #9. May 01 19, 1:40 PM |

When Wes contacted me about this challenge last week, I knew it would be refreshing to see. Really excited to dive in. Reply #10. May 01 19, 1:47 PM |

I think it’s a great idea! I’m also glad it includes crosswords. I have only made a few, but there are some people on my team who love creating them and are great at it. It’s good to see them have more opportunities to participate in the Lounge! Speaking of crosswords, if we complete a contract for a quiz, does it have to be replaced with another one for a quiz? Or could we make it a crossword? Reply #11. May 01 19, 2:12 PM |

You are free to contract for a quiz, a crossword or even create an "either/or" task. It could even be something like "create a quiz list featuring five [criteria] quizzes you have written of which at least two must be new". As long as we can verify the online status and content from a link, it will work. (Sorry, single question fans) Also, the submission must be verifiable at the moment it goes online. "Write a Sci/Tech ranking among the top 5000" does not work as it would involve the wait for a ranking. "Write a 'name this dish' style food quiz that goes online with an editor's choice award" would theoretically be legit - but it might take a few decades to complete :) Reply #12. May 01 19, 3:10 PM |

1 point: Write a quiz in the same subcategory as the last listed duel of the day and have it submitted no later than 6am that day Do you mean the following day? Or 6 hours after it changes at midnight? Reply #16. May 02 19, 12:29 AM |

I thought hte whole point was not to advertise what you're doing... so that someone doesn't gazump your effort Reply #17. May 02 19, 1:42 AM |

You need to have it on the same day, within the first six hours. It's a speed-writing challenge. (Yes, this favors certain time zones.) Reply #18. May 02 19, 1:46 AM |
