Ryohei Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo. He and his friends have to compete in a series of dangerous game to survive. He develops a romantic relationship with another player named Yuzuha Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya), a mountain climber. Both of them survive after all the games are completed in season 1.

Answer: Seong Gi-hun

The main character was Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a divorced chauffeur and gambler who lived with his mother. He struggled to support his daughter financially. He participated in the game to settle his debts. He and Cho Sang-woo (Park Hae-soo) were the two final contestants.

He defeated Sang-woo after a brutal fight, but refused to kill him. He then begged Sang-woo to stop the game using the third clause, but Sang-woo instead killed himself by stabbing on his neck. Before dying, Sang-woo requested Gi-hun look after his mother.

After many rounds of competitions comprised of team and individual contests. In a team contest, a team leader would be selected. The winning team would proceed to the next round.

Woo Jin-yong and Jung Hae-min were the two finalists. The final game involved infinite rope-pulling in which the two finalists had to pull the rope until it was loose, grab the other end of the rope and destroy the opponent's torso (which was made of plaster casting) with a sledgehammer. Woo Jin-yong won the final game and was awarded prize money of 300 million won (about $240,000 USD).
