1. One of the earliest text-based electronic games was released in 1971 and it depicted events from 1847. What was this game in which players led a group of settlers traveling from Independence, Missouri in a covered wagon?

Answer: The Oregon Trail

After the first version of "The Oregon Trail" the game's lead developer, Don Rawitsch, was hired by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium to create an enhanced version of the game which was released in 1975. This version was extremely popular and it recreated the trek west along the historic 2,170 mile Oregon Trail.

In the game players had to hunt for food, purchase supplies, tend to the wounded and make traveling decisions.

Answer: Nintendo

Nintendo released the first N64 (Nintendo 64) consoles in Japan and North America in 1996 bringing with them some of the most famous console games and series ever released. Nintendo 64 is named after its 64-bit processor.
Notably, the Nintendo 64 was one of the first consoles to feature 3D graphics and was a major hit for the company. It was followed many years later by the Gamecube in an attempt to combat products from both Sony and Microsoft (the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, respectively).

The Cisco Kid appeared in comic book form and also as a series in the early days of television. Naturally, he was a hero, and fought on the side of the lawful and just. His sidekick was Pancho, whose horse was "Loco". Cisco's horse was "Diablo", which is Spanish for "Devil".

In the TV series, "The Cisco Kid" was portrayed by Duncan Renaldo, and "Pancho" was portrayed by Leo Carillo.

Answer: Dai Vernon

Harry Houdini (1874-1926) was known to brag that if he saw a card trick performed at least three times, he could figure out how it was done. Dai Vernon (1894-1992), born David Frederick Wingfield Verner, tested Houdini's claim with a variation of the magic trick known as "The Ambitious Card", or "The Elevator Card", in which the selected card appears to return to the top of the deck after being placed somewhere in the middle. Houdini was forced to admit he was baffled by Vernon's version. Afterward, Vernon changed his billing from "The King of Kards" to "The Man Who Fooled Houdini". In his life he perfected many standard close-up magic tricks, including the modern "cups and balls" routine.

David Copperfield, Criss Angel, and Penn Jillette were all born long after Houdini died.
