Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what state can you-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 7:35 Those blasted wait times are back. If the answer to this question is 'Florida', what could the rest of the question be?

Answer: ...find Cape Canaveral?

An American launch site for spacecrafts, Cape Canaveral is situated on the eastern coast of Florida, about halfway down its Atlantic coastline. Run by the American Space Program, the Kennedy Space Center found at this point has been home to numerous space launches due to the fact that its proximity to the Equator allows for maximum linear velocity as the Earth rotates. The original London Bridge, sold to American Robert McColloch in the 1960s, was reconstructed in Arizona. Mount Elbert is the highest American peak in the Rockies located in Colorado while Myrtle Beach is on the Atlantic coast in South Carolina.
2. Which rock band sang "Just because I'm-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 5:47 Okay, you seriously need to upgrade to high-speed. We were so close with this one. If the answer to this question was 'Coldplay', what would finish the question itself?

Answer: ...losing doesn't mean I'm lost."

The lyrics specified are from the band's third single, "Lost!" from their fourth CD, "Viva la Vida (or Death and All His Friends)". Taking a spot on four different Billboard charts, the song wasn't necessarily as popular as their previous single, the extremely well-received "Viva la Vida", but it still did quite well for itself.

The song has quite the beat, many pounding sounds accompanied by an organ tune and strong lyrics to back. On the released single, fans may also note a difference between "Lost!", the original song, "Lost+", in which Jay-Z performs with the band, and "Lost-", an acoustic instrumental version of the song.

The CD won 'Best Rock Album' at the Grammy Awards in 2009.
3. Who plays Dr. Cal Lightman-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 3:02 Sigh...we have to start anticipating these. I can't remember the answer, but Cal Lightman is a character from the TV show "Lie to Me". What's probably the answer?

Answer: Tim Roth

Appearing on FOX, "Lie to Me" is a show about micro-expression. Similar to the popular CBS show "The Mentalist" (starring Simon Baker), the show focus on exposing criminals and others through the examination of their nerves, expressions, and mannerisms. Dr. Cal Lightman, played by Tim Roth (nominated for an Oscar for his work in "Rob Roy" and appearing in "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction") has founded The Lightman Group, a contracted firm responsible for exposing the lies they are presented with.

He and his team use their knowledge to determine peoples' true emotions. Tim Roth's character is based on notable American psychologist Dr. Paul Ekman, known for his studies of human emotions.
4. What mountain range contains-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 6:31 That was the worst possible place that could have cut itself off. Let's put it this way; I think that one of the mountains listed was Mount Olympus. What could be the answer?

Answer: Pindus

The Pindus Mountains are found in Northern Greece and Albania and Mount Olympus is the country's highest point. Often regarded as the 'Home of the Gods', this location has popped up in numerous different myths and legends from Greek history. It's the fourth-largest peak in all of Europe. The Apennine Mountains crawl up the side of Italy. Covered in forests, they tend to contain a number of towns and villages. Corno Grande is its largest mountain.

The Carpathians stretch through mid-eastern Europe; its tallest peak is Gerlachov Peak and it contains the city of Bratislava.

The Urals are in Russia and Mount Narodnaya is its highest point.
5. Edvard Munch was known for what famous-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 0:56 This download time isn't too long, but how should this question end? What was Munch most famous for?

Answer: painting

Edvard Munch, born in 1863, was an expressionist painter known for completing "The Scream", a notable work by all means. Possibly one of the most recognized works in the art world, "The Scream" is housed in the Norwegian National Gallery. Munch himself is Norwegian.
In 1994 and in 2004, "The Scream" was stolen by art thieves. Both times, the masterpiece was recovered. The killer from Wes Craven's slasher film, "Scream", also wears a mask inspired by the figure shown in the work though its name in the film is 'the Ghostface Mask'.
6. The Skull and Bones Society was founded at-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 9:38 Can you figure out where this was done (ignoring the constant reminder that you need to wait for your internet to catch up to itself)?

Answer: Yale

Founded in New Haven, Connecticut in 1701, Yale is one of the eight Ivy League Schools found in the northeastern United States. The Skull and Bones Society is run by the Russell Trust Association, created by the society's founder. Basing their operations on campus in a 'tomb', the society selects prominent members of the university's student body as members inducting them near the beginning of the school year.

Many notable alumni have been a part of this group including two Presidents and Barack Obama's economic adviser. Members of the society are typically regarded as 'elite', and with good reason- many of the people involved move on to significant jobs in American politics and business.
7. The US version of "Deal or No Deal" typically contained-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 14:43 Seriously? The problem's getting worse. Is someone stealing your connection?! In all fairness, I think the question's about briefcases. How many, at the most, are on the stage at one time?

Answer: Twenty-six

The game is simple. Twenty-six nondescript briefcases are walked onto the stage (usually by twenty-six identically-dressed models at Howie Mandel's beck and call) each containing a dollar amount ranging from the measly single cent to a million dollars (or, sometimes, more).

The player chooses one of these (purely a game of chance) and begins eliminating other cases. Periodically, they are given an offer to take their unopened briefcase and they get to choose whether or not to take it or keep going.

It's really all a game of willpower and pure luck. There is no pure strategy. The masterminds behind this popular game show, Endemol, you may remember for creating and unleashing "Big Brother" upon North American TV audiences and Bob Saget's "1 vs. 100". My condolences.
8. Sasha Baron Cohen is not-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 47:12 ...Oh come on! Not what? Which of these does Sacha Baron Cohen not portray?

Answer: Pee-Wee

Sacha Baron Cohen's "Da Ali G Show" premiered in 2000. A satirical journalism show, Cohen portrays Ali G, Borat, and Bruno in various different scenarios, humiliating many different famous politicians, entertainers, and others in the process. His film, "Borat", became a comedy hit and was nominated for an Academy Award for writing. Similarly, "Bruno", released in 2009, gained critical acclaim and millions in the box office. Outside his work in improvised comedy, Cohen has also shown his acting skills in Will Ferrell's "Talladega Nights" and the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration "Sweeney Todd".
9. At the first Youtube Awards, who-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: 1:56:43 Maybe we should just turn around and come back when the site traffic is lower. I'm at my wit's end with this. The winning 'Creative' video in the first annual Youtube awards in 2006 went to "Here It Goes Again" by OK Go. What was featured in the video?

Answer: Treadmills

A group of four from Chicago, OK Go achieved minor popularity on their second CD, "Oh No" because of this song. When the video was posted onto YouTube, it became a quick hit. The band appears as a quartet on a set of treadmills, jumping around in choreographed movements on a shoddy amateur camera.

The thing is, it's infectious. The song rose in popularity, appearing in advertisements for various movies and in the first "Rock Band" game. The video itself was parodied on various TV shows. The song "Here It Goes Again" by OK Go later went on to win a Grammy award for 'Best Short Form Music Video'.
10. Okay, we have to act fast before we're cut off! Quick! Douglas Adams's "Hitchhiker's Guide", what's the meaning of life, the-ESTIMATED DOWNLOAD TIME: Unknown ...?

Answer: 42

The question explored in the first book of Douglas Adams' famous series, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", partially explores the meaning behind life, the universe, and everything. Fans of the series will instantly snap back with the answer, the ubiquitous and arbitrary number '42'.

When the giant supercomputer Deep Thought was created in order to determine the ultimate answer, its simple response was this two digit figure. When intelligent beings decided to create a more powerful computer to solve the answer by creating the proper question to suit it, it was later destroyed by Vogons in order to build a hyperspace bypass.

The computer, of course, was Earth. Shame, really. It remains unknown to this day as to whether or not the number has any true meaning.
