Wisconsin was the 30th state admitted to the Union, so its quarter was released in the 6th year of the state quarters program, 2004.

Although Wisconsin produces over 15% of the nation's milk, the state apparently decided that - by including the cow and the cheese - they had dairy products adequately covered.

The Denver Mint apparently produced as many as 50,000 Wisconsin quarters with what appeared to be an extra leaf at the base of the ear of corn. These sold for several hundred dollars each shortly after the flaw was discovered.
