Learner thinks Ellie is someone Rittenhouse is having an affair with, but instead it is the acronym 'ELE', which stands for Extinction-Level Event.

Doris heads a successful cosmetic company and wants Thad to be its vice-president. Thad comes home with Doris's perfume on him and the President confronts him about it. Nothing comes of it. Thad obviously is totally in love with his president wife.

The President gets pregnant, quits her job and decides to devote herself full time to her family.

According to Crews, Twentieth Century Fox thought that the movie would draw a large cult following eventually, which it did. Crews played the defensive end and linebacker positions in the NFL. For a while he did commercials for Old Spice.

"Absolute Power" came out in 1997, and was directed by and starred Clint Eastwood. He plays a master jewel thief (Luther Whitney) who witnesses a murder from behind a one-way mirror in a billionaire's home he was stealing from. Richmond is having an affair with the billionaire's wife. Whitney gets away with millions of dollars in stolen jewelry as well as the letter opener she stabbed the President with that may have blood and finger prints on it.

Muffley parodies Adlai Stevenson II who, at the time, was the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and nearly an American president in the future. The entire title of the 1964 film is "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb".
