Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What so upsets the space aliens that they wish to invade and conquer the Earth in "Plan 9 From Outer Space" (1957)?

Answer: the Earth's development of doomsday weapons

The alien Eros explains to American military officers that his mission to Earth was originally peaceful. The other civilisations of the solar system are concerned about the development of larger-and-more-lethal weapons by the nations of the Earth. The next invention, they say, will be a "Solaranite Bomb." Solaranite is a substance which detonates the molecules of sunlight.

This weapon jeopardises the Sun, on which all of the other planets depend, thus they act in self defense. Eros finds humans stupid, immature, and irresponsible. If it is necessary to destroy all of the people on Earth to save the planet and its Sun, they have the power and the plans to do it.
2. Three of these titles are genuine, bona fide, for-real, professionally-produced and theatrically-released motion pictures from the 1950s. Which one is not?

Answer: Black Magic Daughter

"The Black Scorpion" (1957) was a Mexican-American production about a very large arachnid. "The Black Sleep" (1956) was Bela Lugosi's last film. "Creature From the Black Lagoon" (1954) was the first of three movies about the Gill Man, the others being "Revenge of the Creature" (1955) and "The Creature Walks Among Us" (1956).

There was a Charlie Chan movie in 1944 titled "Black Magic." There was an Indonesian motion picture called "The Queen of Black Magic" (2019) which was a remake of a film with the same name made in 1981. "Black Magic Woman" is a song written by Peter Green for his ensemble Fleetwood Mac in 1968. Carlos Santana's 1970 recording was even better known.

There does not appear to have been a motion picture called "Black Magic Daughter."

The aliens occupy his body which is able to "split" into two copies of itself. He feels no pain and is able to heal wounds/burns in an instant.
