Carrie Underwood's debut album came out in 2005 and at the time became the biggest selling debut album for a country music artist. "Some Hearts" followed her winning the television series "American Idol". Both singles mentioned topped the Billboard Country Singles chart.
2. "Austin" - "Ol' Red"

Answer: Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton's debut album was self-titled and was released in 2001. The ballad "Austin" told the story of a lost love being rekindled and topped the Billboard Hot Country Song list for five weeks. "Ol' Red" was an epic story song about a coon hound and a prison escape. Blake's popularity grew further when he was one of the original hosts on the TV competition show "The Voice".
3. "New Strings" - "Kerosene"

Answer: Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert literally lit a fuse with her debut single "Kerosene" on her 2005 album with the same title. The album was essentially written by Miranda and showcased her country/rock roots. Miranda had just finished third on the television singing competition "Nashville Star" prior to releasing her debut album.

Georgia native Jason Aldean kicked off his self-titled debut album with the songs "Hicktown", "Amarillo Sky", and "Why". Each of the tracks reached the Billboard Hot Country Singles top ten and "Why" was his first number hit. In 2025, Aldean released a greatest hits album called "30 Number One Hits".
6. "Sinners Like Me" - "How 'Bout You"

In 2006, we all discovered Eric Church with the release of his debut album "Sinners Like Me". Eric's release featured a dozen songs that showcased his songwriting, love of traditional country mixed with a little rock and roll edge. The album reached the top ten of the Billboard Country Albums chart.
7. "Picture To Burn" - "Tim McGraw"

Taylor Swift became a pop superstar in the decades to follow but her debut self-titled album definitely showcased her country music roots. Singles like "Tim McGraw" and "Teardrops On My Guitar" were written by Taylor when she was still in high school. The album was nominated for Album Of The Year in 2008 at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
8. "Chicken Fried" - "Toes"

In 2005, the Zac Brown Band released an independent album called "Homegrown" but in 2008 the country music superstars put out their first major label release "The Foundation". While the band based out of Georgia has put out huge singles and epic tours since 2008, those first two singles are still signature hits for the band. "Chicken Fried" captured the American Dream in its song lyrics.

In the summer of 2000, just making the cut of this quiz topic, the country music trio, Rascal Flatts, released their self-titled debut album. It reached number three on the Billboard Country Album chart and had four singles that made the charts. The band of made up of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney and each member has sung lead vocals on songs.

Answer: Darius Rucker

The former lead singer of Hootie and The Blowfish, Darius Rucker released his country music debut album in 2008. "Learn To Live" was the first of three consecutive albums by Darius that hit number one on Billboard Country album charts. In addition, all three singles on the debut topped the charts too.
