Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Billie Eilish released the EP (extended play) "Guitar Songs" on July 21, 2022. The EP had two songs, "TV" and "The 30th.". "The 30th" is a song about one of Billie's closest friends who had a serious car accident on November 30th, 2021. Billie learnt, the next day, her friend was involved in an accident. In the lyrics, Billie goes on to say she also travelled on the same road and was stuck in a traffic jam; an ambulance came rushing by, but she never pulled over to make more room. The song asks if it had been on another day or at a different time, what would the result have been for her friend?

"Airbag" is a track from Radiohead's third studio album, "OK Computer", released in 1997. Thom Yorke and his fiancée were involved in a car accident in 1987, which served as the inspiration for this song. He was uninjured, but she had whiplash. "Did an airbag save my life?" asks Yorke. No, but I'll tell you something: whenever you have a near miss, you should stop, jump out of the car, and run down the street yelling, "I'm BACK!"

"I Came Here to Live" is a track from the album "Dangerous Man", released by Trace Adkins in 2006. The song is about a man who tells a story of how his car flipped while driving at 80 miles per hour and describes a transformative experience with God that altered his life's purpose.

Released on July 28, 1976, "Detroit Rock City" was recorded by the band Kiss. The song was also on the band's fourth studio album, "Destroyer" (1976). "Detroit Rock City" by KISS tells the story of a young fan who suffers a fatal car crash while travelling to a Kiss concert. Originally meant as a tribute to Detroit's music scene, the song evolved into a darker, more dramatic account inspired by an actual incident in which a fan lost their life on the way to a performance.

Recorded by Ice-T, "Ed" is a track from the album "O.G. Original Gangster", released in 1991. Ice-T's song tells the story of Ed's sudden and tragic death, serving as a cautionary tale about Ed's extravagant yet self-destructive lifestyle filled with drinking, gambling, and hustling, which ultimately leads to his fatal drink-driving accident, highlighting the dangers of street life.

The Green Day bass player Mike Dirnt wrote the song "J.A.R." as a tribute to his close friend 19-year-old Jason Relva, who committed suicide and died in a car crash. The lyrics to the song tell how he coped and moved on from a terrible time in his life.

The English rock group Siouxsie and the Banshees recorded the track "Kiss Them for Me" in 1991. It was the lead single from their tenth studio album, "Superstition", which reached number one on the US Alternative Airplay chart (Billboard). The song is a tribute to Jayne Mansfield, a blonde superstar from the 1950s and 1960s who tragically died in a car accident along with two friends while travelling to a performance in New Orleans.

"See You Again" was written as a tribute to the late Paul Walker from Furious 7. In 2013 Paul, along with Roger Rodas, died when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT Roger was driving crashed and burst into flames. Both died at the scene. The songwriters were Cameron Thomaz, Charlie Puth, Justin Franks, and Andrew Cedar. The song was sung by Wiz Khalifa and featured Charlie Puth. The song was released in 2015 and was a massive hit for both artists, reaching the top spot in several countries.

"Dreaming While You Sleep" is a track from the album "We Can't Dance", released in 1991, by the English rock band Genesis. The song tells the story of a chap who is exhausted and accidentally hits a young lady who has just stepped out from the pavement. The driver leaves the scene of the accident, but later decides to visit the lady in the hospital. At the hospital, he finds out the lady is now in a coma and wishes for her to regain consciousness.

Imagine Dragons recorded the song "Waves"; it featured on the band's fifth studio album, "Mercury - Acts 1 & 2", which was released in 2022. The lead vocalist and a founding member, Dan Reynolds, sings the line, "With one car and one night, it's driving through the prime of your life." It is a reference to an unnamed old girlfriend who is killed in a car crash by a drunk driver.
