DMX was influential in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with his music being considered hip hop / rap of an aggressive nature. DMX's debut album was "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" was released in 1998 to critical acclaim as well as commercial success. It did not stop there with DMX having commercial success with all five consecutive album on Billboard selling over 75 million records worldwide.

Although DMX's movie success did not reach the heights of his music, he was featured in "Belly", "Romeo Must Die", "Exit Wounds", "Cradle 2 the Grave" and "Last Hour".

Shawn Corey Carter was born 4th December 1969 and is known professionally as Jay-Z, billed as the "greatest rapper" of all time. Jay-z was president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings from 2004 to 2007 before he changed it to Roc Nation.
