1. "Walk Like An Egyptian" (The Bangles) was written by Liam Sternberg. It was released as the third single from The Bangles' album "Different Light". It reached number one in the US and the success of "Manic Monday" propelled "Different Light" to number two on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the group's most successful album.

2. "Alone" (Heart) was composed by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. Heart's version is a power ballad that became their biggest hit in the US, spending three weeks at number one. It is also Heart's most successful single in the UK.

3. "Shake You Down" (Gregory Abbott) was written by Gregory Abbott. It hit number one and became Abbott's biggest hit. The song also featured in the 2007 film "Are We Done Yet?" and peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart.

4. "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" (Whitney Houston) was written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam. The song became a worldwide success, topping the charts in 18 countries including Australia, Italy, Germany and the UK. At the 30th Annual Grammy Awards, it won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, marking Houston's second win in the category.

5. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" (Starship) was written by Diane Warren and Albert Hammond. It is the theme for the romantic comedy film "Mannequin". The song received a nomination for Best Original Song at the 60th Academy Awards.
