Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Abel

Abel gave God an animal sacrifice which in God's eyes was much better than the food sacrifice his brother Cain gave to God. An animal sacrifice was much better in God's eyes because the spilled blood represented life. Abel's sacrifice was also given with a faithful heart.

Abel's faith in God was seen when Abel offered the first of his flock as an animal sacrifice to show God his love, loyalty, and faithfulness.
2. Enoch

God took Enoch to Heaven without Enoch having an Earthly death because God loved Enoch's faith. Enoch and Elijah are the only two men in the Bible who were taken up to Heaven by God without going through an Earthly death.
3. Noah

When God told Noah to gather the materials to build an ark because he was going to flood the Earth, Noah had faith in God and built the ark. It would have taken Noah between fifty to seventy-five years to construct the ark.
4. Abraham

Abraham had faith in God when he moved from his homeland of Ur to Canaan. He didn't know what God had in store for him, but at the age of seventy-five he moved with his wife to a land he didn't know.

When God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac, Abraham had faith that God knew what He was doing. Abraham was prepared to take his only son's life and God saw that so he supplied Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead of Isaac.
5. Sarah

Sara laughed when she first heard she would be having a child at the age of ninety, but she had faith that God knew what he was doing. After being barren for the majority of her marriage to Abraham, Sarah gave birth to her only child, Isaac.
6. Isaac

Isaac was the father of twin sons, Esau and Jacob, with his wife Rebekah. Isaac meant to bless Esau with his birthright as the oldest twin. For Isaac's birthright, Esau would have received twice the inheritance that his brother would have received. It was God's will that Jacob get the birthright blessing instead of Esau because God saw how easy it was for Esau to give the birthright away for a bowl of stew. With Rebekah and Jacob's deceit, Jacob was given the blessing meant for Esau.

Isaac had faith that God knew what He was doing when He allowed Jacob and Rebekah to trick Isaac into giving Jacob the birthright that was meant for Esau.
7. Jacob

Jacob blessed his grandsons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were the sons of Joseph. Laying his hand on Ephraim and Manasseh and blessing them was Jacob's last act before he died.

By blessing Ephraim and Manasseh, Jacob was showing his faith that God would get his family to the promised land and that Ephraim and Manasseh would become two of the twelve tribes of Israel. Ephraim and Manasseh would later take the place of Levi and Joseph as two of the twelve tribes of Israel. Levi could not be a tribe of Israel because God had earlier ordained Levi and his family as priests.
8. Joseph

Joseph was the second youngest son of Jacob. Joseph was buried in Egypt but requested that his bones be dug up and taken to Shechem to be reburied where his father had land and had built an altar.

By requesting his bones be dug up in Egypt and reburied in Shechem, Joseph was showing that he had faith in God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land.
9. Moses

When Moses was born he was hidden by his parents for three months because the Pharaoh had ordered the midwives to kill all male children born to Hebrew women. After three months Moses' mother put him in a basket and sent him down the Nile river. Moses was discovered in a basket by the Pharaoh's daughter and adopted. By putting him in the basket and sending him down the Nile River, Jochebed had put her faith in God that Moses would be safe in the river and she had faith that God would see to it that wherever her son ended up he wouldn't be killed.

As an older man, Moses also showed faith in God when he was told by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land. He had faith that God would get them across the Red Sea without harm and that God would keep them safe as He led them to the Promised Land.
10. Rahab

Rahab was recognized as a harlot (prostitute) in Jericho. She lived in the outer walls of Jericho. After helping Joshua and Caleb escape before being caught for spying, Rahab was told that she and her family would be saved when the city of Jericho was destroyed. Joshua and Caleb made sure Rahab put a red cord against the wall of her home so that it would be recognized as her home and not destroyed.

As a new Christian, Rahab put her faith in God that He would save her and her family from certain death like Joshua and Caleb had said.
