2. Rachel
Answer: Leah
Rachel and Leah were sisters who were both married to Jacob. Jacob met the women when he was working for their father, Laban.
According to Scripture, Jacob loved Rachel while Leah felt unloved and ignored. See Genesis 29:15-30 for details.
3. Isaac
Answer: Ishmael
Isaac and Ishmael were half brothers, both the sons of Abraham. Issac's mother was Sarah while Ishmael's mother was Hagar, an Egyptian handmaiden to Sarah. For details see Genesis 21.
According to Scripture, Sarah and Hagar did not have a warm relationship.
Ishmael is generally regarded as the father of the Arab nation.
4. Hosea
Answer: Gomer
According to Scripture, the prophet Hosea received divine orders to marry a harlot to symbolize Israel's love affair with false gods. Hosea 1:2 in the NKJV explains things this way: "When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea: 'Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry by departing from the Lord."
As a result, Hosea married Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim.
5. Lamech
Answer: Zillah
Zillah was one of two women who were married to Lamech, as per Genesis 4:19. The other woman was Adah. Zillah was the mother of Tubal-Cain, "an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron," according to the NKJV. Zillah also had a daughter, Naamah.
Interestingly, Lamech was the second murderer in the Bible. Cain, who killed his brother Abel, was the first.
6. Eve
Answer: Seth
Eve is described as the mother of all living, in Genesis 3:30. Her name was given to her by Adam, the first man. In addition to Cain and Abel, Eve gave birth to Seth, as per Genesis 4:25.
7. Noah
Answer: Ham
Ham was one of three sons of Noah. The two other sons were Shem and Japheth, as per Genesis 5:32. Their mother is not identified in Scripture.
Noah and his wife as well as their three sons and their wives were able to take refuge in a gigantic ark they had built and survive a massive flood that engulfed the world, as per Genesis 7.
8. Elimelech
Answer: Naomi
Elimelch and Naomi were husband and wife and had two sons -- Mahlon and Chilion. Ruth 1 tells of Elimelech and his two sons dying with Naomi being left a window along with her two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah.
The book of Ruth goes on to tell of Ruth staying with her mother-in-law Naomi and becoming the wife of Boaz, a wealthy landowner. Ruth would give birth to Obed who would become the grandfather of David, one of the greatest kings in the history of Israel.
9. David
Answer: Abishag
1 Kings 1-4 tells of Abishag, a beautiful young Shunammite woman being selected to take care of David when he was elderly and frail. Part of her duties were to sleep with David to keep him warm. However, there was no intimacy between the two as stated in Verse 4.
10. Esther
Answer: Mordecai
Esther and Mordecai, of course, are forever linked. The Book of Esther tells of Esther and Mordecai joining forces to prevent Haman from carrying out a diabolical scheme to kill all the Jews in the Persian empire ruled by Ahasuerus. (In the NIV, Ahasuerus is known as Xerxes.)
