Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Rhoda was the absent minded servant girl who went to the door after Peter was frantically knocking following his miraculous escape from prison. When Rhoda heard Peter's voice, she left him there knocking and went to tell others in the house Peter was at the door. It's a good thing Peter was not being pursued by prison guards as he would have been easily captured. The Biblical account involving Rhoda can be found in Acts 12:5-19.

Eutychus fell asleep in a third floor window while Paul was preaching, as per Acts 20:7-20. To the horror of those assembled, Eutychus tumbled out of the window and died. However, Paul rushed down and miraculously brought the young man back to life. The passage ends with Paul going back upstairs to eat and then preaching until the early morning hours.

Matthias was picked by the remaining 11 disciples to replace Judas Iscariot who had committed suicide. Details can be found in Acts 1:16-26.

Dorcas, also known as Tabitha, was raised from the dead by Peter, as per Acts 9:36-43. She lived in Joppa.

Felix was a governor of Judea and Paul appeared before him, as per Acts 24. According to Scripture, Felix kept Paul imprisoned for two years hoping for some bribe money to come his way. He would be replaced by Festus, who Paul also appeared before.

Simon the tanner is mentioned in only Acts 10:6 and 32. In both verses, it simply states Peter was lodging with him and his house was by the sea.

Cornelius was a Roman centurion who became one of the first Gentile believers in a resurrected Jesus Christ. His story is told in the tenth chapter of Acts. The chapter tells of Peter baptizing Cornelius and members of his household.

Stephen was the first martyr of the early church. His story is told in Acts 6:5-15 and all of Chapter 6. Using the NKJV, Stephen's name appears nine different times in the passage. However, his name cannot be found anywhere else in Scripture.

Lydia was a seller of purple cloth in Philippi and she was converted to Christianity by Paul. Going strictly by Scripture, Lydia was the first believer in a resurrected Jesus Christ in Europe. Her story is told in Acts 16:13-15.

Blastus is mentioned in only Acts 12:20 and no where else in the Bible. According to the verse, he was a personal aide to Herod.

The names Matthew, Theophilus, Demas, Onesimus and Barnabaa are all incorrect answers.

Using the NKJV, the name Barnabas appears 24 times in Acts. However, it can be also found in 1 Corinthians, Galatians and Colossians.

The names Matthew and Theophilus can also be found in Acts, however, their names can be found elsewhere in the New Testament.

In 2 Timothy, Paul is near the end of his long campaign for Christ and he says only Luke is with him. Demas, he says, had forsaken him. The name Demas can be found in three different books in the New Testament, but not in Acts.

The name Onesimus does not appear in Acts. He was a run away slave who served in the household of Philemon. After running away from Philemon, Eutcyhus ended up being converted to Christianity by Paul, an old friend of Philemon.
