British Guiana participated in five Olympic Games from 1948 to 1964 (London, Helsinki, Melbourne, Rome, Tokyo). The 1964 Tokyo games was the last time the country appeared as British Guiana in the Parade of Nations. When the country became independent in 1966, it changed its name to Guyana, better known as the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

Burma participated in nineteen Summer Olympics from 1948 to 1988 before being referred to as Myanmar during the Parade of Nations at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The country joined the African nations in boycotting the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics due to the inclusion of the New Zealand rugby team's acceptance of apartheid. Myanmar is also known as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

British Honduras participated in the 1968 Mexico City and 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. In 1973, British Honduras changed its name to Belize after gaining independence from the United Kingdom. In the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, Belize was introduced in the Parade of Nations.
7. Northern Rhodesia

On the last day of the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics, Northern Rhodesia gained independence from the United Kingdom and changed its name to Zambia. The 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics was the only Olympics Northern Rhodesia participated in before they gained independence.
FYI, Northern Rhodesia was the first country to enter the Olympic Parade of Nations as one country and leave Tokyo as another.
8. Tanganyika

The 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics was the last time that Tanganyika was in the Olympic Parade of Nations. The country of Tanzania was formed by the joining of Zanzibar and Tanganyika. Tanzania joined the Olympic Parade of Nations in the 1968 Mexico City Summer Olympics.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has gone through several name changes during the Olympics. In the 1968 Mexico City Olympics the country walked in the Parade of Nations as Congo-Kinshasa. From the 1984 to 1996 Summer Olympics, the country walked in the Parade of Nations as Zaire.
When Zaire was overthrown by new president, Laurent Kabila in 1997, he changed the name to the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, Zaire began walking in the Olympic Parade of Nations as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
