Cantona was a troubled genius at the best of times. After playing with Auxerre, he moved onto Martiques, Marseille, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Nimes before embarking for England. Sheffield Wednesday took him as a trialist, but it was Leeds United who seized the opportunity to sign him.

In nine short months, he helped them to the League title, and was on his way to Manchester United. Cantona won the FA Premiership with United in 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1997, and the FA Cup in 1994 and 1996. 'Le King' played in 45 games for France, and scored 20 goals.

Ceulemans only ever played for two teams throughout his career, namely Standard Liege and Club Brugge. Canizares played for Celta Vigo between 1992-94 before Real Madrid saw his potential and snapped him up. In 1998, he signed for Valencia.
