Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When not working in town hall, Patricia also operates which of these?

Answer: A bookmobile

Four days before the cocktail party held after Tom's inaugural swim, Patricia was sitting in the back of her mobile library-- the Pattiwagon-- watching as tourists started flocking to her quaint town. Clearing garbage out of her donation box, she brought in that day's drop-off haul to find a self-help book sitting on top. 'Your Turn: Out with the Old & In with the You' seemed pretty vague and bland from the cover, but it stuck in her mind after she put it on the shelf with the others of its genre.
2. While attending a gathering with other girls from her graduating class, Patricia is asked about which of these topics by a new neighbour?

Answer: The Boogeyman

In the evening, Patricia attended a party on a chance invite from one of her high school friends only to find that she was immediately being put on the sidelines, unable to get herself into any bit of idle chitchat. She was saved, fortunately, by a new local, Shelby, who moved to Widow's Bay from Portsmouth. Shelby, already on her third glass of wine, indicated she only came because she met Lenore, but really, she didn't know anybody else in town.

Shelby couldn't help but ask about the girls who died in Widow's Bay since, as it would seem, Patricia went to school with all of them around the same time. Patricia confirmed as much; she was almost one of them. She launched into her recounting of the night she heard 'The Boogeyman' come into her house... only to be nudged into by another guest, spilling a glass of white wine on her. By the time Patricia went back out to the party, she found the other women gossiping about her.
3. The 'Your Turn' self-help book started with which lesson?

Answer: How to Throw a Party

Patricia, dejected, headed home to find that the light was on in her bookmobile and, heading inside, she found that the self-help book she'd placed on the shelf earlier had been knocked to the floor. She decided to bring it inside and make it her next bit of light reading, opening it for the first time while laying in bed.

It was an interesting book, to say the least, kicking off with questions about what she liked and didn't like about herself (including a detailed drawing on which she needed to circle her worst physical features). The first lesson it imposed, however, was about 'how to host the perfect party'. It was exactly what Patricia needed to hear. All it could take was one party to change the way people looked at her and, with that, it could change her life.
4. Patricia unwittingly planned cocktail night on the same night as which of these?

Answer: A local's birthday bash

The night after starting her self-help reading, Patricia rolled into town hall with a list of supplies, putting it on her colleagues to start pulling things together for the sunset cocktail party she's envisioned. Rosemary would grab the items they need; Dale would act as DJ for the event, even though he'd never done something like that before. Before long she was drafting up an email invite for the event at the Salty Whale that week and sending it to all 156 people on her contacts list. Once click and it was sent.

And all of the details she'd pulled together came from the book-- everything from the punch to the venue arrangement. She wanted to be meticulous. This was her ticket to having people like her.

While planning at the Salty Whale, Patricia ran into some of her old school colleagues, there for a meal, and gave them a formal invite to the party. They were pleased to inform her that Bill Rooney would also be having a party on the same night out at the Elk's Lodge. They would be attending that instead.
5. Who discovered that Patricia was reading outside all night?

Answer: Bechir

Patricia found herself completely enthralled by her reading, managing to block out everything going on around her out in public while taking in the words of wisdom on the page. She was convinced that the event had to be a success because it was 'her turn' to have success.

At town hall, Patricia held the others to high scrutiny in spite of her RSVP list sitting at zero with only a day left to confirm attendance. In retaliation, she had Dale call the Elk Lodge and insist they cancel their birthday party event, using their pending liquor license renewal as leverage. She would spend the afternoon refreshing the RSVP list to no avail.

The Sheriff, meanwhile, followed up on Tom's request to look into a concurrent issue wherein he was stalked by an old woman while heading home from the bar. What he found, while looking into footage from the security cameras around town, was that Patricia was spending all night reading her book at the picnic table by the docks.
6. Who did not attend the sunset cocktail party?

Answer: Tom

Rosemary headed to the Salty Whale on the night of the party to find Patricia in the kitchen chopping away to make her special punch. She kindly suggested that Patricia might have been putting too much into the party the past couple of days, possibly to the detriment of her own well-being, but Patricia wasn't all too interested in hearing it.

Instead, Patricia headed out into the restaurant to check on guest arrivals, finding that tourists had barely started to show up. Much to her dismay, they'd only started to trickle in, some admitting that it might be worth circling around until there were more coming to have a drink. Instead of stressing in front of the few guests they had, Patricia instead headed back into the kitchen to have a drink and call Tom, asking after his arrival time. She only got his machine.

Just when all hope seemed to be lost and the women from Patricia's high school came in to witness her failure, a bachelorette party passed through. The rest of the crowds arrived shortly after. All that worry, perhaps, for nothing.
7. Patricia claims she hid from the Boogeyman in what spot?

Answer: Under the bed

While trying to attend to her guests. Patricia continued to overhear the mean girls of Widow's Bay belittling her behind her back and, finally, she made a point of going up to them and asking them, upfront, why they were always so nasty to her. Kris accused her of playing the victim-- again-- but what it really seemed to boil down to was that her friends, despite their efforts, were killed by the Boogeyman and Patricia, somehow, survived, whether her story was believable or not. To this day Kris, at the least, harboured a grudge.

Patricia headed into the kitchen to sob after her confrontation, threw back another sip of punch, and glanced down at her self-help book to find the message she needed already waiting for her: 'SERVE THE PUNCH NOW'. She picked up the bowl, put on a smile, and headed out to the guests.
8. Sheriff Bechir headed to the Salty Whale at the end of his patrol for what reason?

Answer: To follow up on a noise complaint

Once the punch flowed, the crowd really got into the party. With a glass in nearly every hand and the dance floor full, sunset cocktails appeared to be a great success all thanks to Patricia's efforts.

Outside, Sheriff Bechir, radioing out to his wife about their prospective, new home off the island, continued to work pass his quitting time, partly due to Tom's insistence of an old woman out there, on the loose, stalking him. Bechir got one last call though, specifically for a noise complaint at the Slaty Whale. He offered to check it out himself.

While Patricia burned it up in the middle of the crowd on the dance floor, she didn't notice that the other guests weren't actually dancing, but standing in the circle, staring blankly, mouths agape, as through entranced. That's when she went and got her book. There was nothing left to do but give the final toast.

With her book in-hand, Patricia stood before the party-goers and found herself somewhat speechless. With the subtle encouragement of the others, she opened the book to a mold-damaged page and started reciting 'The Perfect Toast', word-for-word. Celebrating, the guests announced it would be a good idea to cap their night off by heading down to the cove for the much-anticipated bonfire. Patricia thought that was a good idea, but headed back to the kitchen to get some more punch first. It's there that she found Rosemary.
9. Patricia inevitably discovered that she had actually made her special punch with which of these?

Answer: Dead animals

Rosemary, sipping wine in the corner, admitted that she had no idea what Patricia was saying during her speech. In fact, she has qualms about the entire night. Bechir arrived as well, indicating the noise complaint, but he spotted what she was drinking and brought her back to reality. Turning to face the countertop, she found that the ingredients she'd been using for her punch weren't fresh fruits, but dead animals. Glancing in the mirror, she found that the headpiece she was wearing wasn't actually a subtle, golden band, but a large, ritualistic pair of antlers. Patricia asked Rosemary why she didn't say anything besides 'she has qualms', but Rosemary reminded that she was told to be supportive.

Heading out into the restaurant, the proof was all around her. Not only were people drinking animal blood and enjoying decor comprised of pagan totems, but the self-help book she'd been consulting appeared to be a flesh-covered grimoire filled with mystical symbols and diagrams, and worse still, it all pointed to the inevitability of the party-goers heading to the bonfire to walk themselves into the sea.

That's where she found the partiers, compelled by a terrifying magic force to walk into the water. Bechir, following, tried to pull people out of the water and radio for help. Patricia raced to the bonfire and attempted to cast the grimoire into the flame. It took holding the book into the fire itself to bring about its end, collapse its effigy, and break the spell on the confused guests. Naturally, they assumed Patricia spiked the punch.
10. After both of their harrowing nights, Tom and Patricia travel with Wyck to find which of these locals, dead in their chambers?

Answer: Reverend Bryce

Walking home in the middle of the road after her ruined party, Patricia ends up getting found, on her trek, by Wyck and Tom, both of whom were heading out from Tom's place having destroyed a spectral sea hag. She gets into Wyck's truck, taking the ride with them out to their destination, the church, where Reverend Bryce was expected to be after he had, earlier, phoned Tom and left a concerning message. Wyck believes he knows something about the recent events in Widow's Bay, and any helpful clue would be of use in the face of the weird and dangerous things they're encountering.

They waste no time in heading inside to Reverend Bryce's chambers, finding that he was busy in his office not long before they arrived. The problem, as they step inside, is that his body is on the other side of the office door. He hanged himself with his belt a short time earlier.
