Jimmy Savile: In 1958 and 1960, he started working as a disc jockey for Radio Luxembourg and Tyne Tees Television, respectively. Savile frequently hosted the BBC music show Top of the Pops from 1964 to 1988. In 2006, he co-presented the last episode of "TOTP". He began hosting his own radio shows on Radio 1 in 1968 and did so until 1987.

Tony Blackburn: Tony Blackburn is a British DJ and radio host, most famously recognized for hosting Top of the Pops as well as programs on Radio 1 and Radio 2. He started his broadcasting career in the 1960s on pirate radio stations Radio Caroline and Radio London, before becoming part of the BBC in 1967. Blackburn was among the longest-running hosts of "Top of the Pops", presenting the show from the 1960s through to the early 1980s. He also made guest appearances as a co-host on several "Tops of the Pops" special editions.

Noel Edmonds: Noel Edmonds is a well-known British TV and radio host who gained popularity during the 1970s and 1980s. He initially made a name for himself as a disc jockey on Radio Luxembourg before joining BBC Radio 1 in the UK. He is probably best remembered for hosting "Top of the Pops," a role he held regularly from July 20, 1972, until 1978. In 1982, he came back to co-host the 1000th episode of "Top of the Pops" as a guest in 1983.

Steve Wright: British DJ and radio personality Steve Wright is most known for his ongoing show "Steve Wright in the Afternoon" on BBC Radio 2. His radio career began in the late 1970s, and in 1980 he joined Radio 1. Wright regularly hosted "Top of the Pops" from 1980 to 1989. Steve Wright presented his first show on 7 February 1980. The show featured The Regents, Queen, The Selecter, AC/DC, and The Buggles. From 1997 until 2009, he presented the sister programme "TOTP2", in which he was the longest-serving host.

Gary Davies: Gary Davies is a British radio and television presenter. He worked as a BBC Radio 1 disc jockey from 1982 until 1993 and regularly hosted "Top of the Pops" from 1982 to 1991. His debut as a presenter on the show was on December 2, 1982. Davies was the final Radio 1 DJ to present "Top of the Pops" before the programme underwent its "year zero" redesign in October 1991.

Bruno Brookes: Bruno Brookes is a British radio host and presenter who gained fame as a DJ on BBC Radio 1 throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He was recognized for his lively and positive approach, as well as his talent for engaging with his audience. Brookes played a significant role in the UK pop music industry, frequently hosting live events and presenting music chart countdowns. He was also well-known for appearing on the BBC programme Top of the Pops. On 13 September 1984, he co-hosted with Dave Lee Travis. His last stint was on April 6, 1995.

Simon Bates: British radio broadcaster Simon Bates rose to fame as a result of his work on BBC Radio 1 in the late 1970s and early 1980s. From 1979 to 1988, he frequently appeared on "Top of the Pops." On December 6, 1979, in episode number 824, he hosted the show for the first time. He last appeared as a presenter on July 14, 1988, in episode number 1270. There was a special 25-year anniversary of "TOTP" which was aired on December 31, 1988. The show had many of the former presenters of the show, including Simon Bates.

John Peel: John Peel frequently hosted "Top of the Pops". He co-hosted the show with Jimmy Savile for the first time on February 1, 1968, but he didn't return until 1981. On May 5, 1987, he made his last regular appearance. On December 14, 1995, he made another appearance as host. He was well-liked by the audience because of his laid-back manner and love of music. He frequently co-hosted with Janice Long and David "Kid" Jensen. Peel holds the record for the longest interval between presenting episodes of "Top of the Pops."

Richard Skinner: Richard Skinner is a British radio host and former TV presenter, primarily recognised for his work on BBC Radio 1. He started his career in broadcasting in the late 1970s, initially working as a DJ at several London clubs before joining BBC Radio 1 in 1978.

Richard regularly hosted "Top of the Pops" between 1980 and 1985. After briefly returning to BBC Radio 1, he also presented two episodes of the show in 1988 and 1989. His first appearance on the program was episode 857, aired on September 11, 1980, where he introduced the show alongside Jimmy Savile. His final appearance was episode 1117, broadcast on August 8, 1985, co-hosting with Simon Bates.

Janice Long: Janice was the first permanent female host of "Top of the Pops," presenting the show regularly from 1983 until 1988. During her time on the program, she often co-hosted alongside John Peel. She also came back to co-present the final regular episode of "Top of the Pops" in July 2006. Her debut appearance was on episode 982, where she co-hosted with Gary Davies; this episode was broadcast on January 20, 1983. In her final show, episode 1273, which aired on August 4, 1988, Janice co-hosted alongside Mark Goodier.
