Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many teams received manual transmission vehicles from the Valet Roulette board in Leg 11?

Answer: Two

At the start of this leg, teams were instructed to travel to Porto, Portugal and required to book their flight at Voyages Mosaic, subsequently navigating back to Frankfurt and catching an early flight. Once they touched down in this northern Portuguese city, they could make their way through Porto Francisco Sa Carnerio Airport to locate the parking garage, and there, they'd be treated to another brand-new twist: Valet Roulette. For this, they would be able to randomly select a set of keys from a board containing five random choices and, luck of the draw, they would receive either a manual or automatic vehicle with which they could keep racing.

There were only two automatic vehicles; Carson and Jack and Alyssa and Josiah managed to grab them.
2. Heading into the Douro Valley, racers had to push which of these up a lengthy hill to collect a clue?

Answer: Wine barrels

Once racers picked up their keys they were given clues sending them to Granjão, Vila Marim where they had to collect a paddleboat from the edge of the Douro River and paddle to the other side to locate the Quinta de Santa Clara property. There, they would need to collect two wine barrels with matching labels and, working together, roll them up a lengthy hill to the house at the top of the valley to trade for their next clue.

If they could do this, they could return to their vehicles and drive to the Castle of Santa Maria da Feira.
3. Racers had to work with which of these weapons to complete their Road Block task in Portugal (in Leg 11)?

Answer: Bow and arrow

Finding Castelo de Santa Maria da Feira allowed teams to crack open a Road Block clue envelope, and this one had to be completed by a team member who had not yet completed their sixth Road Block in order to ensure that both racers in each pair entered the final leg in balance.

But for this one, the racers (Carson, Alyssa, Holden, and Jonathan) had to have a steady hand. Suiting up in medieval armour, participants needed to proceed to the castle plaza, pick up a bow, and use it to hit three moving targets. The catch, at this point, was that they only had seven arrows to do so, and failure to get three good shots meant starting over.
4. To end their day in Portugal in Leg 11, racers had to complete a puzzle made with which of these materials?

Answer: Ceramic tiles

Completion of the Road Block meant a gauntlet of to-dos for the teams. First, racers had to drive themselves back into Porto to locate Campanhã Railway Station whereupon they could leave their vehicles behind and pick up tickets to Porto's São Bento Railway Station. There, in the station, they needed to locate a man selling tiles in the station's lobby to receive their next clue.

This tile clue would send them to the ODE Porto Wine House where they would need to put their hands on more custom-made tiles, completing a complex eighty-one-piece azulejo tile puzzle to get their final destination.
5. Which team arrived at the race's final Pit Stop, located on the banks of the Douro River, in last place?

Answer: Alyssa and Josiah

Once racers completed constructed and mounted their tile puzzles they would be given a clear picture of their next Pit Stop and a clue sending them there, on foot, to the opposite banks of the Douro River beneath the Luís I Bridge. Racers could find Phil and the mat in Vila Nova de Gaia and check in with the chance to make it to the final leg.

Carson and Jack stayed in the lead for the entire leg and took their second consecutive win of the race (and fourth overall), but it was, perhaps, a surprise bad day for Jonathan and Ana, whose poor navigation and bickering led them to trail the full leg. They were fortunate to overtake Alyssa and Josiah in the final task, sending the couple home in fourth.
6. The final leg of the race was held in which U.S. state?

Answer: Florida

Racers opened clues on the edge of the Douro River in Porto to begin their final leg and discovered that they would be flying over the Atlantic, homebound, to the city of Miami, Florida to end their race. Upon landing here on one of the provided flights, racers would be able to hop in a cab and proceed to the Crandon Park Marina. From there, they could take a speedboat across Biscayne Bay to find their next clue and start a Scramble around the city.
7. As part of the Scramble in the final leg, racers could choose from all but which of these task options?

Answer: Sand

Racers cracked clues open and commenced their Scramble after their speedboat rides, and from there they had options they could pursue in any order to get items that would spell out their next destination.

As part of this, racers could head to the Coral Reef Yacht Club where, hopping into a small sailboat known as an Optimus, they needed to maneuver their way around a marked course around Valentines Island. Alternatively, teams could head to South Pointe Park on Miami Beach to join local lifeguards and save a drowning victim out in the water with a high-speed rescue craft and board.
8. Did the final leg of the race contain a Road Block task?

Answer: Yes

The 'Soar' option from the Scramble, as teams discovered once they arrived at the Venetian Marina & Yacht Club, was actually a Road Block task, and only one member of each team could participate to complete it for their clue piece. For this, that racer needed to be 'ready to go above and beyond', and Jack, Han, and Ana decided to take part. For this, they needed to strap in and go hydroflighting, suspending themselves for sixty seconds over Biscayne Bay.
9. The reward for completing the Scramble in the race's final leg depicted which of these?

Answer: A domino

Once teams had all three parts of their Scramble rewards, they could combine them to find the word CALLE atop what appeared to be a domino. Working all of this out, teams could proceed to Miami's Little Havana neighbourhood to find their next clue waiting at Calle Ocho Domino Park.

This would send them to one final task waiting at Miami's Ice Palace Films Studios, and there, teams hit their memory challenge for the race. For this, teams had to assemble a 100-piece puzzle containing people, places, and things associated with the game-changing twists they encountered on the race course.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race 37"?

Answer: Carson and Jack

Completing the final puzzle challenge at Ice Palace Films Studios allowed teams to rip open one last clue, and this one instructed them to drive themselves to the finish line waiting in the middle of LoanDepot Park, the Florida Marlins' home stadium.

Carson and Jack, staying out in front for the entirety of the leg, were the first to hit the Finish Line this season after nine countries, eighteen cities, and more than twenty-nine thousand miles, winning "The Amazing Race 37" and the $1,000,000 USD prize. They were followed by Han and Holden in second and Jonathan and Ana in third.
